21st Century Worship

21st Century Worship is the name I use for pretty much all my worship music endeavors. The band is not so much a band yet - it's me. And I have some people who play with me, for the most part my worship team at the church where I lead worship. 21st Century Worship is about taking the timeless truth of the glory of God and worship of Him and bringing it into a place that fits today's world - while not giving up anything of the music's timelessness and truth.
Tell me about your history? How did you get where you are now?
I guess I would need to have a history to have something to say here. 21st Century Worship is mostly about the WRITING. Making music to be performed moreso than performing it. I've been writing since the early '80s. I've written a lot - and I mean a lot - of really bad music. But to God's glory, I think I've had a few gems too. They'll start showing up here as I can get them recorded. And as the opportunity to make better versions come, the quality will improve as well.
Have you performed live in front of an audience? Any special memories?
I play live every Sunday morning in Kenmore, Washington at Kenmore Community Church. Service starts at 10:30 a.m. It would rock my socks off to have someone visit and tell me they got the idea to show up from HERE. So, to make it official - Yes, you are invited!
Your musical influences
I'm a worship musician doing worship music. My major influences are worshippers. Having said that, I am very into a lot of classic rock, prog rock, classical, celtic and a conundrum of other styles. But for my music, it tends to come out pretty pop-rockish. It all depends on who I've got in my corner helping me out at the time.
What equipment do you use?
I'm playing a Dean Performer E. It plays real easy for a mid to low range priced guitar, and records nicely.
