13 Seconds Under
"You are about to listen to the gods of 13 Seconds Under. Their music is like an orgasm to the ear, and they shall piss Kool-Aid and kick your ass."-Ryan9Captain black and white Rainbow)lewis
Tell me about your history? How did you get where you are now?
13 Seconds Under
On a cold December morning, Keshia Boyce was driving down an old country road. She was late for school. Going too fast, Keshia flipped her car six times, end-over-end. Keshia laid in a field, broken from the face down, for almost an hour before she was found by her father. Her father held his daughter in his arms for what seemed like forever. Keshia Danielle Boyce died just hours later.
Darin Harrison, the happy-go-lucky punk everyone had heard a crazy story about, locked himself in his room for months and escaped to all he had left a notebook and a pen. For months, Darin wrote about the death of his friend and first love. He had written for longer than he could remember, but, this time, he was writing about life not dreams. Before she died, Keshia pushed Darin to put music to his words. It had been Darin’s dream for years. He had played bass in a couple bands with Josh Linville and Ryan Holt, but he could never hold his ground behind a mic. He had never even used his own songs in the other bands he jammed in. Now, he knew it was time.
Months after his friend was laid to rest, Darin found his way out of a notebook. He knew what he had to do. It was time. He called up and old friend, Josh Linville, who had recorded an album with the Gambits (a punk band on the local music scene) and jammed with many other talented musicians on the scene. With Josh behind the drums, it only made sense to throw Ryan Holt, another old friend, in on guitar. Josh brought the edge and Ryan brought the passion. Not long after, Josh Spence, who had jammed with Ryan and Darin in Even Fall, joined the line-up. What it was, no one knows. Spence just fit. Josh, Darin, and Ryan had jammed together for years, and knew what each other were all about. Spence just worked.
After months of writing and rehearsing, Josh, Darin, Ryan, and Spence were ready to see exactly what they were all about. Hard working and true to what they are and what they do, 13 Seconds Under took off on the local scene. The band lives to perform live. They thrive on live performances. On any given night, you can find 13 Seconds Under promoting, writing or performing. They truly love what they do.
It took the death of a loved one to bring them together, but like everything else, Josh Linville, Darin Harrison, Ryan Holt, and Josh Spence prevailed and rose above. You can count on 13 Seconds Under being around for a long, long time.
Have you performed live in front of an audience? Any special memories?
yes. We play around Indiana. Hell yess we like it. Special moment=We were asked to play at a benefit for our friend who passed away in a car accident. It was special because the accident started the band to remember her.
Your musical influences
