When the term Hip-Hop is mentioned, it is thought of as a blanket term for urban music. Y-Rap embodies the entire form of the term hip-hop with rapid lyricism, fantastic wordplay, and not to mention a “6th sense” for songwriting. His style serves as a bridge between sub-genres of rap music, and there is where his true talent lies. The fierceness of a battle rapper, the swag of the mainstream and the logic of the best wordsmiths in the game push Y-Rap to the next level of Hip-Hop music
Band/artist history
I started producing and rapping around the same time. I was 16 and after a talent show (where I was reciting poetry ironically) a friend of mine suggested that I start rapping, I've been working on my skills ever since. I recorded my first song in 2007 and now I'm trying to finish my first album.
Have you performed in front of an audience?
I do shows, but I've never had a live band.
Your musical influences
I love Jazz and Blues. John Coltrane, Miles Davis are my favorite. of course hip-hop[, thre are really too many to name. Jay-Z, Lupe Fiasco, Talib Kweli, Little Brother are a few of them.
What equipment do you use?
I use FL Studio, Audacity, SONAR, and iTunes
Anything else?
Im working really hard to make some of the best music in the world. But I know it's gonna take time. I ask anyone ridin with me to have patience, because I fully plan on being the MAN in this industry. no matter the costs. If you know me, U really don't know me.
