YAOMB
NEWS
04/25/2008 - Dear friends and visitors - as you might have noticed, not much is happening here since there is too much happening in my life! I simply don't have time to write and record my own music. This has been going on for over two years now.. still, i'll hope to be back one day. In the mean time, i hope you enjoy what's available.

The Soundclick Interview
Why this name?
YAOMB stands for Yet Another One Man Band and that's what i am.. Not the classic one-man-band but i create music at home using my computer, guitar(s), electronics, etc.!
Do you play live?
I play in Church, almost every sunday. Sometimes my daugthers Judith (Keyboards) and Mirjam (Drums) play alongside and we're known as the B-Gang by some or by the more decent name "EGL Band". Choose whatever you like... Both ain't official. as long as you don't compare us to the Kelly Family we're happy!
How, do you think, does the internet (or mp3) change the music industry?
All music should be free!
Would you sign a record contract with a major label?
Me? Who wants to sign me? ROTFL!
Band History:
When i was sixteen years old i learned how to play guitar from a teacher at school. He taught us the basic chords and some songs (CCR, U2, and others) in a 20-week course. After that, i learned some other stuff from books and other guitar-players. Have been in a bedroom-band (never got on stage with that) with some friends, joined an aucoustic band playing in church and after that stopped performing for years.
Around 2002 i started recording music using my computer. I had been writing some songs and thought it might be fun recording them. At first they were published on mp3.com and IUMA. After some time i moved them to SoundClick. Only to be expected to be 'burned to the ground'.
Since some people seemed to like my music i decided to keep them online and publish them under the creative common license.
I'm not looking for a career in music. I already have a career in ICT, have a busy family and church-life. An online ministry. So why go on stage? It would be way to time-consuming and apart from that i don't feel like traveling all over the country and perform for a handfull of people. The internet is much better; i can create music from home whenever i feel like it, whenever i've got some time left. And people can listen to it if they want to, for free. It's a win-win situation for all of us!
