Band History:
Birth Name: Nick Garver
Birth Place: Chicago, IL
Birth Date: 11/14/1985 (22)
Current Location: Metro Detroit
wiZDumb, or better known to the government as Nicholas Eric Garver was born in Chicago, Illinois on November 14th, 1985, destined to later become one of the greatest MC's in the history of Hiphop. Wiz grew up in the Metro Detroit area since the age of 3 where he developed his musical gift and talent in, "The Music Capital", Motown and also known as Detroit Rock City. With a great taste in many genres of good music. From Metallica to A Tribe Called Quest, he listened to it all as long as it had quality and substance. As time went by, Wiz became more exclusively interested in Hiphop. He started to relate to the lyrics and feel the music, more than anything else. After Wiz witnessed an MC battle taking place in 2000 at the age of 15, he was deeply influenced by the underground scene/MC battle circuit, to start pursuing a career and build up skill to become one of the best. He figured, "If they can do it, I can do it!" And since then it's been almost natural and accelerated in the growth of his skill. After 2 years of dedication to the art and ambitions of success, wiZDumb started collaborating with other artists on the same sphere. His first local collaboration was with a very gifted and talented MC by the name of Dan Sykes, then known as FrozD. With the local success of their song, "Examples" which was featured on FrozDs' debut LP "Deadly Concepts", Dan invited Wiz out to perform a show with his group by the name of Murderouz Method Muzik which also included artists Damien and Smif Wessun. After the success of the show, Wiz and Dan did a few more collaborations and soon after, Wiz became part of the group. In the next weeks Wiz met another local, exceptional MC by the name of Self Centered. They did a few collaborations and formed a duo by the name of Nu Teztament. The music was outstanding and caught the ear of Dan Sykes. He loved what he heard, Wiz and Dan then introduced Self into the 3M squad. The combination of 5 MC's put together a compilation album which was extremely successful in the St. Clair Shores area where the group was based. The local concerts kept gaining more and more momentum as the group gained a larger fanbase. After time, Smif Wessun steadily decreased activity in making music and Damien moved away to Ohio. In result, Self and Wiz decided to induce Dan into their duo Nu Teztament. Since then, that's the group that has stuck and concentrated. On that following 2003 fall season, Nu Teztament was rapturously invited to perform at the "Cause and Effect Charity Show" among talented local acts such as; One Man Army, Woofpac, Abstrakt Intellekt, Lawless Element, and Toxsick. Along with local grafitti artists, B-Boys, DJ's and plenty of Hiphop heads for this September 11th event. The organizer, Jay Mills AKA Acclamaid of The Detroit Beat Club heard the Nu Teztament music, seen the crowd draw and was impressed. Soon after the success of the show he started managing Nu Teztament and kept them on the right track ever since. That following Winter, Nu Teztament released their first mixtape CD titled, "The Listening Hour" which has made it to a wide range of areas and helped the group gain exposure. Nu Tez began passing out the CD's free at their shows along with other sampler discs at various Hiphop events in pursuit of more acknowledgement. During this time the group also worked on their debut LP, Feature Presentation, which released August 3rd of 2004 on Detroit Beat Club. The full album boasts 20 full excellent songs with top notch production from some of the finest producers around the globe including wiZDumb himself who had started producing in mid 2002 and the talent resembles the quality and acceleration of his microphone skills aswell. Recently, wiZDumb has parted ways with Nu Teztament and is beginning a solo career and is currently working on his debut album. Watch as the story unfolds...
