Well, it's a fresh start for me, with a new setting and a new motivation. I've started over on Life in Three Steps, so keep an eye out for it.
Mandate is still available for $8.00 MP3 download, or you can still get a hard copy from me if you ask really nicely.

Why this name?
"Uncle Roses" is something that a friend of mine called me once. I thought it was great, so I've been using it ever since.
Do you play live?
No, I only write music. I don't really know how I would perform Reason music live, though technically that's what Reason 3.0 is all about...
How, do you think, does the internet (or mp3) change the music industry?
The internet and mp3s allow people like me to get heard. That's a huge change in the industry.
Would you sign a record contract with a major label?
Now that I've done an album on my own, I certainly would sign with a label. It's just too complicated to try and handle all on your own.
Band History:
When I started, I was just messing around with a cool program I downloaded a demo from somewhere - Reason 2.5. I was fascinated by it, but didn't know much about writing music. Since then, I have signifigantly developed my music theory, listened to thousands of hours of music, and written over 300 songs. Of these, only my most recent work is fit for hearing...
I've also developed a strong affinity to Drum N' Bass music, a style I never considered before I started writing. I still love trance, but drum n bass is where I concentrate my skills.
Lately, I've really been developing my sound, trying to do something more consitent, and yet still have enough dynamic to keep things insteresting. I'm not afraid to try new things, and I'm always wanting to learn, but this will always be Uncle Roses.

Your influences?
Lately, I've been listening to a lot of great DnB from Soundclick. GeeViouS, djSkye, Breakbeatpimp, RAkoon - all great artists. Listening has really helped me to develop my sound, and I've gotten the chance to remix GeeViouS's great track, Sacrificial Chamber.
I still listen to a lot of metal - In Flames, Distrubed, Children of Bodom, Metallica, Opeth - and I've also really been into smooth jazz lately (The Rippingtons, Peter White, Mindi Abair, etc).

Favorite spot?
New York City! So many great places to write in this town.
Equipment used:
I have recently upgraded to Reason 3.0, which is incredible. I also have a whole raft of "Refils" from Zero-G, Loopmasters, AMG, and others.
