My name is Tyler Koontz. I'm 20 from Littlestown/Philadelphia Pennsylvania. Studied music at the University of the Arts with focus in Film Scoring. I've been composing for 8 years now. I have a passion for music and the way it works on the big screen as well as dance/house music.
Why this name?
It's my name. It's catchy, isn't it...
Do you play live?
Only if there is a screening or you hear my stuff in the background of an action film or comedy or drama or in a club or whatever...
How, do you think, does the internet (or mp3) change the music industry?
It both hurts and helps the industry. We all know why it hurts the industry, but it definately helps young artists get their demos and work out there for all to hear.
Would you sign a record contract with a major label?
Yeah. It's the foundation to a steady career in the music business.
Your influences?
Everyone from DJ Encore, DHT, Cascada, BT, Tiesto, and Angel City to Hans Zimmer, Harry Gregson-Williams, John Williams, James Horner, Mark Mancina etc.
Favorite spot?
Philadelphia!! Without a doubt.
