Canadian singer/songwriter, actor and producer, Trance Blackman brings a blend of rich, mearningful lyrics and modern music using the styles of pop, rock, dance, electronic, acoustic rock, soft rock, and some easy listening. Eclectic might be one word used to describe what he does.

Do you play live?
I love doing a live show, and I'm in the process of creating a band to make the music come alive even more. I hope to be touring inside of a year from now with a new album or two under my belt.
How, do you think, does the internet (or mp3) change the music industry?
The internet has empowered the independent musician and created a worldwide audience for anyone who takes the time to learn about it and use it. Toys and tools a-plenty and incredibly reasonable for the budget conscious.
Would you sign a record contract with a major label?
I would consider it - but there may be no "major labels" to speak of in the next 5 years if things keep going the way they are. They done much harm to the business of music.

Your influences?
Tough to say. I listen to a bit of everything. I grew up listening to the likes of Elvis Presley, Michael Jackson, Phil Collins, a lot of "traditional" European music (oompah oompah). I love the work of artists like John Lennon, Neil Young, U2, and many other artists that strive to make "real" music.
Favorite spot?
Near the water's edge... in nature... I will find a new favourite place when I get the chance to venture out into the world.
Equipment used:
DAW - I work with 2 computers and usually the only live recording is guitar and vocal. The rest is programmed.
