After playing the bars, nightclubs, Legion halls, weddings and anyplace else I could make fifty bucks since the 80's, I decided it was time to dust off the originals I'd written over the years, write some more and get that part of my musical career going. The music you'll find here is written, performed and recorded by myself. Some of the recordings are a little rough but the songs are there. Hope you enjoy 'em!

After playing the bars, nightclubs, Legion halls, weddings and anyplace else I could make fifty bucks since the 80's, I decided it was time to dust off the originals I'd written over the years, write some more and get that part of my musical career going. The music you'll find here is written, performed and recorded by myself. Some of the recordings are a little rough but the songs are there. Hope you enjoy 'em!
Why this name?
I like fishing, but even better than fishing, I like "ketching" fish. Hence, the "Ketchfish" moniker.
Do you play live?
I'm playing live again in the Kennebunkport, Maine area with my new duo, The Ketchfish Brothers. We're seeking a guitarist or keyboard player to offer a full band booking option.
Over the years I've played literally thousands of gigs. One of my favorites was early in my career when I sang for a crowd of about 3000 at a festa (street party) in a small village in Sicily. It was my first gig in front of more than 50 people and the audience was great!

How, do you think, does the internet (or mp3) change the music industry?
While it remains to be seen how things will shake down, I'm hopeful that it will allow more musical expression to be shared between all the people of the world. (And to think I'm registered as a Republican.)
Would you sign a record contract with a major label?
Yes but I'm old enough to be realistic about those prospects. I'd really like a national act to pick up some of my songs so I can eventually quit my day gig and concentrate on writing music full-time. I plan to sell mp3's here when my current recordings are ready though. Watch for The Ketchfish Brothers page, coming soon!

Your influences?
In my travels, I've played many genre and taken with me a little influence from all of them. I am predominantly a blues player but my originals are from multiple genre and disciplines. I particularly enjoy the music of Bob Dylan, George Harrison, John Hiatt, Tom Waits, Mick Jagger/Keith Richards, Jethro Tull, John Lennon, Hank Williams, Leadbelly, Hoyt Axton, Steve Cropper, Joe Tex, Frank Zappa, Otis Redding, George Benson, Al DiMeola,etc.
Favorite spot?
Marina Di Ragusa, Sicily, Italy in the summertime and Rome the rest of the year.
Equipment used:
Whatever I can get my hands on that makes a musical noise. Fender Strat and Fender Squire Jazz Bass, assorted cheapo acoustic guitars, Shure SM-58 microphones.
