Steven Freedom started out playing Royal Schools of Music classical violin at seven and guitar, keyboards and drums. Then studied Jazz with bass guitar and piano at the University of Cape Town and played in various bands before moving to Australia in 1996.

"I love anything to do with trance and electronica. I've played in bands in other genres but for me there is nothing more expressive, ever changing and so obviously a creative outlet than psychedelic trance.

I guess I try to create a bridge between progressive and psy a lot of the time. But this is more a natural flow - ideally what should be going on instrumentally to maintain constant interest and attention in the music.
