After years of the dead-end bar band scene, we decided we just couldn't do one more rendition of "Sweet Home Alabama" again. We built a multi-track studio, and have been concentrating on original music since then. Our only rules are keep it radio length, and try to constantly get better, but we feel most at home in the rock and blues veins
Why this name?
Our parents actually chose those names for us
Do you play live?
There are only two of us, it is a studio only operation. Our best moment was getting an audience for our stuff with Phil Collins' Hit and Run Music Publishing in London. Still waiting, Phil...
How, do you think, does the internet (or mp3) change the music industry?
It gives artists a chance to continue to breathe life into music, after clear channels have done their level best to KILL it
Would you sign a record contract with a major label?
We would consider anything legal (or mostly legal!)
Band History:
We are especially interested in songwriting and publishing, and would love to talk to anyone interested concerning that. (Plus, we LOVE to play!) ORIGINAL music has influences, but this sounds unique
Your influences?
Tim is a great fan of the Doors. Ken grew up playing and listening to the blues, harder stuff like John Lee Hooker and Howlin' Wolf, he is also a big fan of the Beatles
Favorite spot?
Amsterdam is the coolest place on earth, where freedom actually rings, Ashland Kentucky, because it's home
Equipment used:
We record thru a dedicated rack of equipment, fed into a Tascam 2488 24 track recorder. We primarily use Gibson gutiars, DBX processors and anything else that we think will work
Anything else...?
We have released an original 12 track cd called BLOOD FROM A TURNIP in July of 2006. Only 1 track from this list appears on the CD, because we are constantly writing new material. Our website is www.westfieldrecording.com, and we can be reached at director@westfieldrecording.com WE NOW HAVE A RADIO STATION CALLED "WESTFIELD RADIO" ON LIVE365, THE URL IS http://www.live365.com/stations/337784 CHECK IT OUT!
