Thrill Element
Thrill Element features deep ethereal soundscapes. With elements of rhythmic layering, the songs are awash in complex Ambient/New Age textures. With foundations of percussives and bass on some cuts, the overall presence is of an ambient and spatial environment. Thrill Element is a major side effort of Jazz/New Age artist Michael Lee Thomas. With this project, more emphasis is put on Ambient/New Age composition. Some pieces are atmospheric while others lean toward a light Jazz Fusion. A different side of Michael Lee, highly reflective of his earlier New Age releases.
How, do you think, does the internet (or mp3) change the music industry?
It gives many more deserving artists the ability to expose their art and dream to the world.
Would you sign a record contract with a major label?
Yes, if the label was artist friendly and interest was based on creativity and not just the bottom line.
Band History:
Thrill Element is a side project of Michael Lee Thomas and Darksilver Records America. The project was developed to feature material composed with a more Ambient/New Age style. The cuts were recorded in the same studio as Michael's other CDs, but reveal a more ethereal feel. The project was conceived in 1999 while Michael Lee was on hiatus from previous production. Although a rhythmic presence is still reflected, the tonal colors and soundscapes are complex in a more eclectic way. All of the Thrill Element recordings will be released on Darksilver Records America and unique visual arts through Darksilver Filmworks. Although initially a side effort, Thrill Element has been recognized worldwide as a viable and successful musical endeavour.
