Why this name?
We were drunk and wanted a really naff name. This is what we came up with.
Do you play live?
I (Alan Grier) have played in a few local bands, but The Trouts have never performed live.
How, do you think, does the internet (or mp3) change the music industry?
It allows amateur musicians to get their songs heard. I get a great buzz knowing that my songs have been heard by people all over the world. Even if no one likes them at least they've been given a chance.
Would you sign a record contract with a major label?
I'd love to, but realistically there are so many brilliant, unsigned bands out there that we don't stand a chance.
Your influences?
I love The Beatles and the way they were never afraid to tackle a variety of genres in their songs.
Other influences include The Smiths, Blur, Oasis, REM, Pink Floyd and many more.
