Why this name?
We had changed our name about a billion times, trying to find one that everybody in our band liked or that wasn't taken already. One day, a friend of ours said, out of the blue, "You guys should be called The Remedy." At first we were like, "uhhh..." but then it grew on us and we kept it.
Do you play live?
Of course we play live. We'll play any place that wants us to. Parties, corn mazes, coffee shops, bowling alleys, bars, clubs, high school dances, peace rallies... we've played all those places. We love playing live.
How, do you think, does the internet (or mp3) change the music industry?
Well, it can help unknown bands (like us) get noticed by people (like you). That is a good thing.
Would you sign a record contract with a major label?
Possibly. We wouldn't want to change our style or turn "pop" just to make some more money. We'd be plenty happy with an indie label.
Band History:
The Remedy is from Reedley, CA in the county of Fresno. They were formed in fall 2002. After countless re-naming and a couple of member changes, The Remedy now stands strong in their current form. Members include Keith Lawson on drums and keyboard, Eric Wilson on turntables and rap-vocals, James Isaak on lead guitar, Mat Bolden on bass and back-up vocals, and Jason Awbrey on guitar and lead vocals. Five creative creatures creating intense hardcore-indie music with slight punk and hip-hop tendencies. Some of their influences include Emery, Thursday, Thrice, Story of the Year, and Jurassic 5.
After putting out a few low quality demos and EPs for the past two years, The Remedy has finally released their first full-length album, “take a second to remember,” available online at www.cdbaby.com/theremedy2 and through some of the world’s leading digital download websites, including Apple iTunes and Napster.

Highlights from the past two years include opening for Columbia Records artist Kill Radio and Bettie Rocket Records artist Shop 11 Phoenix. The Remedy has had over 11,000 streaming plays on their soundclick.com page, played over 70 shows locally, and is featured on 103.7 KRZR’s “Turn that Damn Noise Down” radio program.

Future plans include touring Southern and Northern California in July 2005.
