ATTENTION MUSIC LOVERS - I will be updating my page very soon, uploading some music that's done and needs to be posted, and removing several older songs from circulation. IF you still want them, please get them now!

I am the Prophet of Mephisto. I write everything from electronica to classical to jazz to metal. I'm a music ed major out at Houghton College in New York, and I do a lot of arrangements, classical stuff, jazz, and electronica that i'll be posting here. If you like classical with good writing, jazz with good groove, rock with a great vibe, or techno or remixes with catchy tunes, big beats, and some really cool ideas, listen up!
Why this name?
I've been the Prophet ever since I joined www.ocremix.org (April 15th, 2003). My symbol is the FF Black Mage, so it was just a modification fo that.
Do you play live?
I do a lot live. I've got several songs posted here that are my own playing on bass, handdrums, or saxophone. I love playing live...its so great. My best performance was definately at Kleinhans Music Hall in Buffalo. I did a 15 minute concert with a few other sax players and the band as accompaniment. What an awesome day.
How, do you think, does the internet (or mp3) change the music industry?
Completely. Having all this music available for anyone who wants it at any time really increases the awareness for music in all walks of life.
Would you sign a record contract with a major label?
Of course. I'm a music major...i won't be eating after college for a few years. Any extra money would be appreciated.
Band History:
The Prophet has been remixing since the summer of 2003. He started out writing classical songs out on Finale, then progressed to FruityLoops and started working on more techno and less classical. His music consists of trance, dance, hip-hop, classical, light rock, jazz, acid jazz...basically any types of music. He has arranged, performed, and composed over 50 of his works, whether on voice, sax, synth, or bass guitar.
Your influences?
bLiNd, djpretzel, Protricity, OCRemix, videogame remix, Project Magestic Mix, FF musicDJ, Brian Abraham, Coltrane, Herbie Hancock, Victor Wooten. Props to the collaborators that I've found in the past few years.
Favorite spot?
Hah. Clarence Center, represent!
Equipment used:
Fruityloops. Everything I do is through fruityloops. I also use a lot of good VSTs. Check out KVR-VST.com to see some good stuff. As of October 2005, I've started using Reason 2.5 - i love it. great for the classical and jazz stuff that i'm working on. I still use FL for the electronica, though.
Anything else...?
I like to write music. If you need live sax of any kind, vocals (i do any and all voice parts...and i'm a guy, btw), bass guitar, or guitar, i'm your man. I've got good equipment and i'll be able to help anyone with anything.
