Discovered with the tapes that comprise The Orphan narrative were two album-length compilations of original songs. "The Orphans in the Palace" is the more slickly produced, and covers a broad spectrum of musical styles while maintaining cohesion through the instrumentation
and the consistently intriguing lyrics. "The Cool Side of the Pillow" is labeled as a demo, and is obviously homemade, but the quality of the
tunes themselves is evident. They're far quieter, though, so crank them up. I've chosen to post songs alternately from each of these two projects while I transcribe the other tapes. At least one or two each week. I'll post them all before this is finished, indicating track numbers as I go along. Enjoy.
