The Maudlin Hounds
NEWS   Recording the new album begins at NNP Studio's
This summer, while everybody else's having fun down at the beach or relaxing in their sunny gardens, The Maudlin Hounds will be working in the studio recording the new album. We should have started recording earlier this year but the process got delayed due to our drummer breaking his leg in March. It looked pretty bad at first but the surgents put his leg back together really well and Jarle is now back in business ready to go. The damage caused to his leg has no impact on his drumming though. Thank God for that. At some point it seemed he wouldn't be able playing his bass drum for at least a year or so. Maybe even worse...

The recording starts at NNP studio's where we will be recording all drum tracks. When all that is done, we'll be moving the production over to our little kozy band studio at Storsteinnes where we live. The remaining work of the album will be finished in that studio. No release date for the new album is set at this very moment but if we'll have to take a wild guess, the new album will be out sometime in November. We'll keep you informed as the process goes on. Recording at NNP Studios begins June 12th.

Have a great day

"THE MAUDLIN HOUNDS"

Rock/Powerpop trio from the northern Norway.
Why this name?
In 1988, The English artist Morrissey released his first solo album "VIVA HATE" after The Smith's break-up. The album has a track on it called "Late Night Maudlin Street". It's a great song. We thought maybe we could borrow that "Maudlin" word from the English vocabulary. So we did and it ended up being a part of the band's name. We have no idea where "HOUNDS" came from though. Next we knew, we were The Maudlin Hounds. We believe our music is a bit "maudlin" as well so carrying such a band name soothes us just fine.
Do you play live?
We do concerts, mainly in the northern parts of Norway but other places as well. It's the funniest thing.
Would you sign a record contract with a major label?
We actually signed a deal with Norwegian record company NNP. It's very fulfilling, it makes everything a whole lot easier.
