The Cooters mixing down live material for possible release.
The Cooters have been mixing several songs recorded by Tom Queyja in February 2000 at Proud Larry's Bar in Oxford, Mississippi. We mixed a cool version of Motorhead's "Ace of Spades," plus the hardcore anti-police state anthem, "Crusty," and the Cooters outrageous jazzcore tune, "Cosmo Demonic." We are not sure yet how we will release them. They could be released as really cool 10-inch record, but does anybody buy vinyl any more besides us? If there are any record labels interested releasing Cooters vinyl, email us! Stayed tuned to The Cooters.com. In the coming weeks as these files could possibly be released as limited edition mp3s.

The Cooters MP3"Get the Gun!" hits at number one on MP3.com's "Sightings"chart
"Get the Gun" is the Cooters classic intro from our "Invasion of The Cooters" compact disc. And it isn't a song at all. Rather, "Get the Gun" is the real recording made in 1995 at the Cooters Farm of an unidentified flying object that streaked across the sky and crashed near our farm. This Cooters MP3 has been one of the most popular downloads on MP3.com, crossing genres to tickle the fancies of all kind of outer space fans. "Get the Gun" made it as high as number 2 on the "Storytelling" genre last summer, but was moved into MP3.com's recently created "Sightings" category at the end of April 2001. The highway: you know, that striped concrete abomination between roadkill and chugged beer bottles, leading from the middle of nowhere to everywhere. Well, The Cooters are on it. They're on it more than other bands because they're from Mississippi, where rock and roll begins and ends. They're not from California, not New York City, not even Nashville, but from Mississippi, where you have to drive to make ends meet. These boys are used to drivin' long hours and workin real hard to get their music to the people.
They pretty much run the gamut of rock and roll styles; they play everything from punk to 70s rock to metal to jazz. They've got your standard rock format (Kin and Raw on guitars and vocals, Neuter on bass and vocals, and Judas on them drums), but there's not a damn thing else standard about 'em. They make music like it's meant to be heard: loud and proud with blood and sweat to burn.
They've been tearin' up the South for about eight years now, letting the muiscal fads come and go, while stickin' to their metal guns and holdin' fast to their blues roots. They've got legions of fans to show for it and they're always up for makin' new ones. They'll be comin' to see you real soon...

The internet provides a medium for listeners to discover new music without being forced fed music the way radio or television does. People should use the internet and mp3s to discover new music.
