Music is a form of expression. It is a way a person can creatively express themself. "One good thing about music is when it hits you, you feel no pain."Is Hip Hop Dead. Hip- hop was a product of New York City late 70's renaissance which included break dancing, emceeing, graffiti, and Turntablism." Since then hip- hop evolved from just being a movement to being a life style; a culture that has changed music as we know it."Rap is something you do, Hip Hop is something you live"( KRS One) What happened to the days of 2pac, Biggie Smalls, Mos Def, Common when hip hop had a message. But "mainstream hip-hop" you hear today are filled with rappers talking about how much money they got, how many people they killed in the streets, how fly their whips are, and other lines degrating women. That's Not Hip- Hop. "I Dont bump mainstream, i knock underground all that other sh!ts sugarcoated and watered down"(e-40)And then there was HYPHY. While hyphy was once something that represented a fresh new style in hip- hop that presented orginality in style, sound, and energy. Is hyphy dead? This presented an opportunity for many up and coming artist in the bay but it also caused them to be trapped in the region's sound because of failure to establish thier own sound. So a style that was once considered unique and new became watered down due to many overnight rappers turning bay area music into a cliché sound. Don't Label me as a hyphy rapper. I am a Rapper. I am a Hip- hip Artist. I Am City Kid. A Fillipino Rapper from the bay area
