Hello there! Tabula Rasa is a new Progressive Metal band from Cyprus. At the moment our songs are purely instrumental, and the band consits of a Drummer, a Keyboardist, a Bassist, an Acoustic guitarist and an Electric guitarist.
Why this name?
One day we were searching for a cool sounding phrase that we could use for a band name, and towards the end we decided we wanted something in latin. The bassist suggested a term used in Psychology, Tabula Rasa, meaning a clean slate, or a fresh start, and the name stuck.
Do you play live?
So far we've played at a school show (600 people), and at a Band Competition (300). Both were unforgettable experiences. You can see the video on the guitarist's profile or on YouTube.
Would you sign a record contract with a major label?
Oh yes :P (if we can have a free environment to create our own music, without rediculous restraints)
Your influences?
It's a huge melting pot! You will find traces of modern rock, like Audio Slave, some metal elements, ala Metallica, and quite a lot of influence from the progressive side, Dream Theater and Opeth. Look out for odd time signatures, catchy riffs, and some nice solos thrown in :D
