Wha Blo? I am known as Dj Synchronize aka Yagga Yo, and i started my quest in the music scene Dj'ing Drum n Bass. I started makin Hip Hop about a year ago. A couple of mans dem i met at university are MC's and i felt the need to provide them with my interpretation of beatz. Now i'm learning the software, i started makin some drum n bass beatz too.
Why this name?
Dj Synchronize because the mix and blend is all about the synchronization of beatz.
Do you play live?
My main MC KP (check his soundclick site out www.soundclick.com/kpknowledgeispower) has set up a night in Holloway (N.London) Drum and Bass, Hip Hop, breakz, and ecletic beatz, where i am the resident DnB Dj.
How, do you think, does the internet (or mp3) change the music industry?
The Internet is enabling a lot of people just like me, to get their music out there, on the largest community in the world. So, your basically promoting yourself for nothing.
Would you sign a record contract with a major label?
Nah, I wouldnt sell out, and let myself get manufactured out. I would sign with a label, definately underground UK labels.
Band History:
learnt to mix garage messing about with friends when i was around 16, got bored with it. picked up some decks in 2000, but been collecting drum and bass since 99. Met my MC's KP and Sparxillva at Keele University in 2002. Since then, had our own night (Below the Belt) and started producing.
Your influences?
I grew up on a lot of US hip hop, Method man, redman, snoop (didn't everyone?!), Dre, De La Soul, but most influences come from Drum and Bass, especially basslines, there important on Hip Hop tunes.
Favorite spot?
My Bed
Equipment used:
Decks for sampling. All done on PC though, Cubase Sx, Soundforge, Acid.
