Band History:
Born to a young black struggling mother, and no father, Kryptik “BC’s realest rap phenomenon” is no stranger to hard times. Growing up with household music such as MJ, Mahalia, Aretha, Ray Charles and other legends, the records were always spinning. At the age of 8, his family left their home city of Saint John, N.B. and moved to Vancouver, B.C. where he was introduced to the business of the provinces most popular export (Da Ganja) and the hard hitting sounds of west coast rap.
After 2 years homeless at the age of 14, and moving city to city, Kryptik now 24 will be the first to tell you “Every City’s Got A Ghetto”. He does exactly that in his brand new Debut album presented by Street Hustle Inc. and Hardway Productions released November 2006. With 14 tracks including Reality Ft. Curtis Santiago & Get On Me Ft. Lady Precise, eyes get opened the moment the beats hit your ears. There’s no denying with the release of this album, there is a new era of rap music that’ll be taken over Vancouver streets.
Being the solo founder of Street Hustle Inc. Kryptik developed business relationships with Sean Lee (Dilo - Hardway Productions), Lucas Allen (DJ Brukout – Black Crack Records) and Daniel Elmes (Dub Vibe Studios) providing him with the support to professionally complete his debut album and paved the path to open for big name artists such as Bone Thugs & Harmony. With distribution deals in the works, public TV offers, and more massive shows on the roster this is just the beginning.
