Hi! In a short message let me introduce myself. I am an Independent Recording Artist from a small town called Tatura in the State of Victoria, Australia. I have met some wonderful people and performed at Major Events and Country Music Festivals including Tamworth and Mildura. Currently I am recording another Album, which should be ready for release .
Why this name?
Do you play live?
I am working solo in Hotels and Clubs at the moment. I love travelling and performing in different towns.
How, do you think, does the internet (or mp3) change the music industry?
The Internet is a great way to find out who's around (Artist wise) and what's being recorded. There is so much terrific talent around in this world. The Internet is a great tool if used correctly.
Would you sign a record contract with a major label?
Gee! I really like going at my own pace. But I'd certainly listen if a deal came up!
Band History:
There has been so much happen over the years I have been involved in music, that I will talk more about it in a later update.

Musical sensation

Singing star: Steve O’Connor.
By Liselotte Johnsson

Shepparton News

Love got Steve O'Connor into country music six years ago and last month country music got him into the Worldwide Mainstream Most Played Major and Independent Artists Chart.
The Tatura recording artist entered the charts at number 90, and was in good company with country music artists like Johnny Cash, Dolly Parton and Slim Dusty, who also appeared in the July 1 to 15 chart.
Mr O'Connor met his fiancee Bev King singing karaoke, and once she got him into country music they got involved with the Mooroopna Country Club, where he is now president and she is secretary.
"Wolverton Mountain and I'm Counting On You were the two songs that got me into the chart," Mr O'Connor said.
His cover songs are on Australasian Country Artists Series Volume 2, a CD featuring 22 songs by 14 Australian and New Zealand artists.
Taking a long break from a six-year stint as a country music radio presenter, Mr O'Connor said he hoped to follow up on the release of his debut album from 2001, For the Good Times, with a second album next year.
"I'm working with some well known country music songwriters from Queensland and Nashville in America," the 45-year-old said.
Having performed at shows around Australia, including Tamworth and Mildura Country Music Festivals, Mr O'Connor said singing in Benalla during the Olympic Torch Relay in 2000 had been particularly memorable.
The Mooroopna Country Club was the first of its kind in the region when it formed in 1965 and holds a family fun day on the last Sunday of each month.
Both special guests and walk-up artists perform at the club, with Stephen R. Cheney invited as guest artist on August 31. The club also holds a free concert in Mooroopna each year, and raises money for local charities like Ardmona KidsTown.
