NEWS   2008-3-11 - I finished "Courage Born of Despair" forever ago, but I forgot to mention it in my news. Also, "Candyflip" finished and uploaded tonight. In other news, I now have a sweet-action laptop.

2007-11-29 - I've updated some band info, and I have added a new song - Another Step Beyond.

2007-10-22 - Update. I've been changing my style, so my Soundclick has changed to maintain congruency between my current style and my site.

Hi, and thanks for visiting my Soundclick. My name is John Pavlick. I've been making electronic of all shapes, colors, BPMs, flavors, and genres for about two and a half years now. I use Image-Line FL Studio with a ton of rockin' sweet VSTis such as z3Ta+, PoiZone, Superwave P8, Vanguard, and the essential Fruity plugin 3xOsc (gotta love the saw basses that thing can make!). By the way, don't be an elitist and hate on me 'cos I use FL Studio; it's just as good or better than most DAWs on the market. Just because a bunch of Sytrus-preset-using-maniac n00bs make crap with it doesn't mean that it's crap.

Anyhow. Stick around, listen to the music, turn on the disco ball, close your eyes, and let the music transport you. ^^_

Thanks for stopping by! Come back often to see if I've uploaded any new tracks. Also, I throw up all my new tracks at http://www.theflipsideforum.com, which happens to be the best FL Studio forum in existence.

All the best,
John
Why this name?
Well, my other alias, The Clone Factory, is definitely suited to my darker, glitchier, harder work, and Silver Lining sounds like a sweet name for a project that produces slick, immediately likable, easy-to-sleep to chillout-based music.

Also, in a bad situation, I tend to focus on the silver lining of the cloud...
Do you play live?
Uh, do horribly botched piano recitals count?

I'd love it if I actually practiced piano. And I have no real special moments. That'll come eventually.

But due to my hardware and technical limitations, Silver Lining does not play live.
How, do you think, does the internet (or mp3) change the music industry?
It has made it super easy for us electronically-inclined folk to get our tunes out to the general public so that we can get better, so it's awesome!
Would you sign a record contract with a major label?
Most likely not. I've heard too many horror stories. I'd sign with a smaller label, though... that is, if they wanted my work under their name.
