I am a christian country songwriter and BMI Publisher - Crimson Glory Publishing. As a single parent I understand hardships of life and have been writing songs for years but didn't pursue a music career till now. I packed my bags and headed for Nashville where I competed in a Nashville Star Search Showcase as a country singer and was offered a gospel recording contract. I didn't sign it, but I learned everything I could while I was in Nashville. I set out to publish my songs so people could be blessed by the lyrics. This is how "ShyAnne" began.
Why this name?
ShyAnne is my legal name. Some of my friends call me Sunshyn because they said "even when I was having a hard day, I was still Sunny and Shining", thus the nickname.
Do you play live?
I performed "Dear Old Guitar" at a Kansas Music Festival in the Fall of 2005. A clip from the performance was on CMT. I currently don't have a band that I hang out with so right now all my songs are recorded in Nashville by HIT musicians in the studios. I have met some great musicians here and am honored that they have helped me with my songs.
How, do you think, does the internet (or mp3) change the music industry?
The internet radio and digital downloading has opened the world up to lots of great music. Whereas before, the stations only played major record label artists so we never got to hear the great stuff that is actually out there. Thanks to all the DJ's that play "indie music" so we can hear em!
Would you sign a record contract with a major label?
If it felt right, I would consider!
Band History:
Been writing songs for many years. Began publishing and releasing to radio Worldwide in 2005. Stay tuned in to more ShyAnne Music!
Your influences?
Fans have told me they think I sound like Trisha Yearwood or Amy Grant. They say my voice is very clear and they can understand my lyrics which they said they appreciated. My voice is soothing, rich, with a country twang.
Favorite spot?
Canoeing on cool springs! It's great for clearing the head and writing songs. Or perhaps a pillow and blanket with a fan blowing nearby...dreaming of a Hit Song....
Equipment used:
But of course, I have my trusty old "Martin" guitar! I have a Tascam 8-Track Studio with a MXL 990 Studio Mic. I mix my tracks in Acid on my PC.
Anything else...?
I started this thinking that I would record my lyrics and pitch them to the major artists hoping that someone would record my songs. But I realized, all that writing and the work to get the songs recorded would just sit until a major artist decided to record the song. So I set out learning how to release the songs myself in hopes that the songs may bless someone. If only just one person is touched by my songs, that is good enough reward for me. Each song is written about life, honesty, and faith. I pray you will be blessed by my songs.
