Welcome to our little slice o' soundclick. Yes, this is where you'll find She Cries Alone, a small group of multi-instrumentalists with peculiar tendencies toward both moody early 80s postpunk (a la The Cure and Fool's Dance) and upbeat 80s indie rock (think The Pixies). It's an odd yet satisfying blend of well-written bass-driven rock that bounces between dark/atmospheric dirges and undeniably catchy pop songs.Band/artist history
She Cries Alone is a band with an odd and turbulent past. Formed by Colder Than Yesterday members Joshua Heinrich and Eric Loftis in 2000, She Cries Alone was originally supposed to be an instrumental dark ambient project. However, after over a year of inactivity on the part of Loftis and Colder Than Yesterday's demise looming as a result, Heinrich took control of She Cries Alone and recruited The Destruction of Nature by Technology's Mike Govenettio, setting out to redefine the band's mission and sound with She Cries Alone's first official song, the organic retro postpunk track "the never world". From there, the band's sound grew to encompass not only dark bass-driven postpunk material, but also more upbeat indie rock reminiscent of bands like The Pixies for an odd but pleasing Cure-esque blend of happy and sad. Heinrich and Govenettio are currently at work on new material and hope to have a debut EP out by the end of 2004.Have you performed in front of an audience?Not yet, although live dates are possible whenever we get enough material together.
