A. Scott “Kokuluk” Kingston was born in Anchorage, Alaska and lived in Oregon most of his life. His mother, Olga, was raised on King Island, Alaska, thus the “Kokuluk” (Kooh-kuh-loohk) Eskimo name. He started writing music during the summer of 2000 for the play “The Little Mermaid” by William Glennon, that premiered during the winter of 2001 at Linn Benton Community College in Albany, Oregon. Since then, Scott has written music for Marc Camoletti's “Don't Dress for Dinner” (Spring 2002) and “The State of Innocence and Fall of Man” by John Dreyden (2003) which was his premier as a music composition major at Western Oregon University.
Scott has studied with Hal Eastburn at Linn Benton Community College, Dr. Keller Coker for Scott's first term at Western, Dr. Arnold Friedman, William Whitley, Dr. Kevin Walczyk, and Dr. Joseph Harchanko.
Scott Received the Bachelor of Music in Contemporary Music in June 2006.

How, do you think, does the internet (or mp3) change the music industry?
The internet allows an artist to distribute their art on their terms and the internet allows for wider coverage and exposure. There is a lot of footwork involved but it is better than being under the heel of a company that does not treat their money makers very well.
Would you sign a record contract with a major label?
No. Record companies mainly disregard the artist and treat them as products.
