05/11/2004 - Sorry, f***ed up our other account awhile ago with an on old e-mail address. Shit! Here's our new webpage for Samurai Sorcerers.
05/31/2004 - Me and Mayumi just saw
Nami Tamaki live @ Amoeba Records. We are planning to write a song about meeting her at that show. Read more about this on my Xanga.
06/03/2004 - I just graduated from high school! Yay! Class of '04!
08/23/2004 - Unfortunately, Mayumi quit the band. Some reason it had to do with college and school. Me and Eddie decided to replace her with our friend Shawn on bass.
09/28/2004 - The Samurai Sorcerers website on Soundclick is re-opened!
11/13/2004 - The site has been modified with a in-depth biography on the band, 13 songs off Samurai Sorcerers 1st CD, and it's tricked out like hell.
12/14/2004 - Tricked out even more!
01/25/2005 - Made a few adjustments to the webpage.
02/13/2005 - Just wrapped up touring at Balboa High. Met a very cute Japanese girl along the way! We are getting together to work on a third album. Be sure to keep updated with us!
04/01/2005 - Tricked out with 30+ songs of our five-year career as a band to today, better looking front section, more articles/interviews, etc.
04/18/2005 - No more Q&A. Now biography on front page. It simply took too much space.
05/09/2005 - My friend from CCSF Bruce Huang is joining the band on keyboards!
07/14/2005 - Long time no see, pal! Updated. But sadly, we are going through hella sh*** as a band. I'll tell you more later.
05/08/2006 - Revised, finally mates! The website for Samurai Sorcerers has been REVISED to Band of Asians and is NOW like an encylopedia to my musical career and life lads! Sorry to spill your beans, but Samurai Sorcerers broke up 2 months ago. We are NOW known as Band of Asians as I will be bulding a new band around me with musicians I met at Skyline.
11/06/2006 - Happy 21st birthday to me in nine days! The album "Revenge" is now being sold on indie music store, CDBaby.com. The one-man band's new album and music can be found and purchased @ www.cdbaby.com/bandofasians
03/28/2007 - Just played a show at CCSF.
07/30/2007 - Since I haven't been updating this profile lately, I did it just now with new information. Please DO NOT ASK me about the change because of my alleged disassociation with Samurai Sorcerers as this is now a Band of Asians webpage. Sorry!
12/26/2007 - THIS IS NOW A TRIBUTE MUSIC PAGE TO THE HIGH SCHOOL GARAGE BAND MUSIC OF SILENT MINISTER'S JAM/SAMURAI SORCERERS WITH NEW INFORMATION AND STORIES RESOURCED BY PATRICK LEW.

silent minister's band. the band & music of 3 or 4 teenagers still in music school learning how to play their musical instruments purchased from Guitar Center to play music in a garage band in the local music media of san francisco called samurai sorcerers, an alternative musical version where the music was a finished product of the independent/internet music community/industry. this is the unpublished, unheard band & music of sorcerers that was never published of any of the sorcerers' band & music pages on the internet and computers until now. because these demo versions on a portable 4-track tascam studio which patrick got at musician's friend shop. BE WARNED. this music is NOT GOOD AT ALL.
this is the music of samurai sorcerers that patrick lew, eddie blackburn and asuka "mayumi" nagase NEVER WANTED you to hear from a garage band of musicians still learning to play school of rock at the music academy. patrick was 16, mayumi was 15 and eddie was 14 when MOST of this music was made. it was sitting in a box of CDs and tapes of band of asians' demo versions and music in patrick's bedroom (band in the box studios) until NOW. this certainly wasn't good music at all because patrick was getting guitar lessons at vibo music center at the time. this is like what you call, band of asians and the band & music of patrick lew on CRACK.
now that that's out of the way. listen to these demo versions of samurai sorcerers music and you can tell results may vary. it's like the Grunge version of limp bizkit.
patrick lew is NOW playing music in band of asians, untitled garage band and is a struggling drum n' bass DJ as DJ audio rage in the local music industry in san francisco.
eddie blackburn NOW is recording a solo album called "personality" in his home recording studio which is still unpublished and is playing music in a variety of musical side projects.
asuka "mayumi" nagase well, has since been getting a college education at UC davis, a GOOD UC college/university. she hasn't been involved in music since 2005, but is still a music lover.
the silent minister's jam supports children and teenagers to learn how to play their musical instruments better at school in their own garage bands. we just regret we didn't do it sooner.
NOTE: Some of the music published on this Samurai Sorcerers music page on SoundClick.com are music from Patrick Lew's solo musician project Band of Asians. Find music from Patrick Lew as Band of Asians elsewhere on SoundClick and other independent music pages on the Internet. This wasn't actually intended to be a Band of Asians music page on SoundClick. But rather, a tribute to the high school garage band of 3 gifted musicians now gone solo musicians or playing in new local bands Silent Minister's Jam/Samurai Sorcerers.

Why this name?
well. silent minister's jam the band & music came from our scrapbook of music and journals. "silent minister" was a nickname eddie gave to me back in Wallenberg School of the Arts, our high school. we were just starting out as musicians at the time getting guitar workshops and musical education at the music store and we had primitive musical instruments at the time we hocked off a pawnshop and used music store. so when we FORMED silent minister's jam/samurai sorcerers back in the summer of 2000 when all of us 3 musicians met in music school and later, high school. we couldn't do songwriting, play music in a Garage Band that well and didn't have computer music software and electronic musical instruments at the time. we all just jammed and recorded our band practices which was a SLOW process just to improve our musicianship on our instruments and recorded those jam sessions at my house in Daly City on a Walgreens tape recorder or 4-track Tascam or playing a show locally for our band & music using a tape recorder back then from Walgreens! it wasn't until my 19th birthday that we upgraded our musical instruments and got into computer music software and future music technology/electronics to do music. but sadly, we broke up before the music got BETTER as we now were in college/university and had OTHER musical projects in our hobby/passion/interest of MUSIC to worry about.
Do you play live?
when we were still playing music in Silent Minister, we did play live shows locally in San Francisco and Daly City. we were underage then, and had to bring a shitload of musical instruments from our Garage Band Studio and stuff in our GIG BAG on MUNI or the BART train. this was our musical resume as local musicians doing our hobby/interest of local music from 2002 to 2005. our first show was at eddie's house carnival/party on May 23, 2002. we always studied our music school lectures on an e-Book just to get better. but honestly, our music wasn't the BEST at all back then! we were going to music school and buying cheap guitars from Guitar Center. Silent Minister's Jam was mostly a LIVE BAND because we never recorded much together as musicians nor did we ever took photos because we didn't have much $$$ to purchase digital cameras and the future music technology/software/electronics we have now at Best Buy, Costco or Computer USA. the band's last concert with eddie and shawn still members in the band was on June 9, 2005 at the Chinatown Recreational Center in San Francisco. most of the music caught on tape with Silent Minister came from unfinished music (demo versions), band practices and a variety of live musical performances taped and bootlegged on a Walgreens tape recorder. we didn't had money to purchase better musical equipment and computer music software at the time. most of the music we recorded was mentioned just above at eddie's house.
i now play music in the Band of Asians, my solo musician project. and i am also playing guitar in a variety of local Garage Bands with local musicians who i'm friends with from City College Music SF. i played in 2 other short-lived Nu Metal bands after Silent Minister with musicians i met through an ad in the paper or at community college here at City College SF. eddie however, was playing in the band Sapien from 2005 to 2007 mostly for live musical events locally here in San Francisco. he was also in a variety of local garage bands playing music like i did. he's currently recording his solo album "personality" in his private home recording studio. mayumi is now working on a college diploma at UC Davis. as other former musicians who were band members of Silent Minister are either NOW in college/university RETIRED from music or doing their own solo projects.

How, do you think, does the internet (or mp3) change the music industry?
the internet and online music communities like soundclick.com, garageband.com and other music websites for local bands & musicians to publish their OWN music was what we started doing before playing shows locally. the band Silent Minister's Jam had made connections by publishing our band & music online. it might be a double-edged sword in some ways because, it hurts the music industry from record store wholesale and lots of famous bands not getting their CDs purchased at the record store since we all download our music on the Internet. oh well. sh*** happens.
Because we mostly buy used CDs at Amoeba and Rasputin Records and hate buying our music at retail/wholesale price at the record store. And we download music on file-sharing computer applications to put in our iPods and MP3 players because we are starving musicians in a tribute band. We also go on MySpace.com to check out some local bands that play good music and support local music unlike most morons who doesn't because the local music scene in SF is awesome!

Would you sign a record contract with a major label?
we did with a small record/music company called Statue Records in 2004 for local bands. but since we don't play music anymore as musicians in that Garage Band, i doubt we will sign a record deal with any music company.
Band History:
GOOGLE in "silent minister's jam" biography or "samurai sorcerers" on the Internet on the computer.
Your influences?
we appreciated all musicians, bands and songwriters who could play music and be passionate about it in the San Francisco music media. but since we loved music more than any other hobby of ours even though we sucked massively as musicians back then, we did love Guitar Virtuoso musicians like Steve Vai, Joe Satriani and etc. i personally loved j-pop, j-rock, grunge, metal and punk bands and musicians. all music is great.
Favorite spot?
anywhere other than school in san francisco like going to a "Battle of the Bands" show or a circus of musicians playing music anywhere. or playing video games at home, skateboarding around the City around a variety of villages in San Francisco and hanging out with old friends from our high school garage band days.
Equipment used:
