Hip Hop General

I'm an emcee from Oak Park, just west of Chicago. I'm 19 goin on 20 and a junior at Illinois State University (Normal, IL). I produce all my instrumentals, I take my writing very seriously, and I beatbox (THA FIFTH ELEMENT!) I'm always open to collaborations and in the next couple years I plan to start putting instrumentals up for sale. Keep checkin back!
Have you performed in front of an audience?
myself and MC Dimension performed at a hip hop showcase hosted by the black student union at Illinois State university. It was dope! I did a one hour show with MC Dimension, O'Ryan, and DJ Phonetics at the student center on campus at Illinois State University. MC Dimension and I performed our track "You Would Pretend" for an open mic for the black student union. I beatboxed on stage as part of an opening act for the Dusty Bottomz Album Release Party at Buddies Sports Bar in Franklin Park, IL. I also did a little vocal scratching and beatboxing for Homegrown's hip hop group Ill-Noize at a Battle of the bands.
Your musical influences
Eyedea and Abilities, Atmosphere, the Procussions, Bush Babees, Masta Ace, Billie Holiday, Kottonmouth Kings, Cypress Hill, Juvenile, Jurassic 5, Lil Boosie, Swizz Beats, David Banner, and not to mention my Big Brother Tate -- not the same music, but he has been a great musical influence and inspiration for me.
What equipment do you use?
I use the Fruity Loops v4 and Cool Edit pro programs to produce my instrumentals. I also use Pro-Tools now, with an M-Box, but I mostly have used my Fostex MR-8 8 track digital mulitracker, a Stageworks mixer and a Samson C01 large diaphragm mic for recording vocals. If I'm doing a beatbox track, I usually just use my cheap Stageworks dynamic mic (less popping)
Anything else?
If you are an emcee in the Oak Park or Chicago Area, or especially if you go to ISU, email me if you wanna get in on a cypher, or better yet, collaborate on a track. PEACE!
