The LXE, the LEAGUE of XTRAORDINARY EMCEES, is a coalition of unique MCs & producers with talent unsurpassed in their respective aspects of the artform, bringing a fresh breeze to hip-hop heads around the globe, battling ignorance & stereotypes through covert neurolinguistic operations to save the enslaved & brainwashed masses from the corporate takeover taking place... believe it or not, this IS the future of Hip-Hop.

SAINT TELLAH a.k.a. ALLAN QUATERMAIN

The League of Xtraordinary Emcees...

So, its like this every once in a millenia, from the streams of time and space... creation is relived and delivered into the spirits of a chosen few, who accept it... This infinite touch manifests itself in many different ways: some Tag, some Break, some DJ, an some Emcee... The LXE is the manifestation of what happens when those talents are honed to the point of a supernatural power... and that is what we are...
I shall introduce to you the LEAGUE OF XTRAORDINARY EMCEES

SaintTellah...a.k.a. Quartermain... not alot to be said that isnt on this page... the LXE is my dream, and these Emcees, and Producers are the best at what they do and among us you will find no best only, different, but the best individually with all that we do... The respect I have for these emcees may be short earned, but the music that they come with is of unspeakable wonder, and though I feel myself to be a top notch emcee I am honored in there presence(cyber presence)lol...

Captain Nemo... a.k.a. TonyOscar, a Canadian emcee, of a worldly decent, ten years plus with a love for tha craft along with a seemingly insatiable thirst for knowledge... this is but the base of this lyrical, spoken word emcee... whose knowledge an wisdom know no limits just as the journeys of Captain Nemo. However his delivery, coupled with his voice, make for quite a lethal adversary.... at place over any beat, an the first to join the league....If you do not know history or do not read books, you might wanna keep a pen and pad handy because you will need it, he will lose you and he will not wait up, but its lovely the whole time, as he rips one word to another on mostly free verse raps, fans of El-p will love Tony... and if you don't get it dont be mad...

JonBlaq...a.k.a. Dorian Gray, this emcee brings along a strong, long resume far too deep for me to list, needless to say... he's paid his dues and it is in that light, an in the fact that he has been there and done that, and his flow is quite indicative of it, that he was named Gray... a cool, suave... if you will emcee, that has a knack for keeping tha listener thirsty for more lyrics, while having them want to dance & listen deeply, all at once... head nodding spittin' his lyrics
(I have been there they are catchy as hell)... Needless to say, an honor to have such a distinguished man on board... So ill with the ability to get it going however he wants to.. bringin an original flow to some smooth beats, conventional rap heads and hip-hop heads alike will love this guy...

http://www.soundclick.com/jonblaq

Truth a.k.a. Phantom of the Opera... and that he is, writing masterpieces, for others, an helping them in the rhyme scheme and delivery is nothing for this concious..."truth seeking" emcee, listen and you will find yourself so intrigued, an leaning towards the speaker... as tha content an delivery is so theatrical, an passionate... the direction he gave to his man on Truth, allows for a fuller, deeper understanding of the song by giving a delivery which lulls the listener into the mood... a lyrical genius, and director of sorts... but enjoy the music he makes with this in mind, you will never see him... Fans of Cannibal Ox will eat this man up... Look for the messages he is putting out there, cuz its changed my life in two songs... Underground heads be lookin at this man, he is doing great things...

http://www.myspace.com/thanonconformists

Mick-z...a.k.a. Tom Sawyer... easily found over a number of rock/hip-hop tracks, spittin with the fury of an adult, Tom Sawyer in a fire fight, not too many emcees have such content and aggression in their voice without it spilling into there lyrics, very few do it without cursing like there is no Sunday... What I call a spit-fire emcee, quick with his delivery, but extremely meaningful. Listen to whats being said, because it really is more than the next best club joint you never heard... Alternative heads and hip hop heads alike are gonna go nuts over this man.

Derelict...a.k.a. Doctor Jekyll and Mister Hyde... as he is both a producer and an emcee... His beats are vast worlds with the extreme personalities of his pseudonyms. Another artist who has been doing this here craft for some time, and one of very few producers who work cuts into their pieces and every single beat he does gets the full spectrum of his wide array of influences it seems; with Derelict every beat is done as if it were his last... A superior emcee, and a godlike producer, a phenomenon... true hip-hop fans will love Derelict, and any fan of rap will find a track you like in his vast showcase...one of the truest underground producers I've been privyy ta hear...

aight guys this is ground zero...

I will get us an official account later next week, good luck and thats whats up... LXE YA'LL
Why this name?
Well lets see, I have always been a writer, stories and such since I have been able to do it. Kindergarden an all that. However I have not always thought rhyming was the way to go about it. See when I was a child I grew up not even really listening to rap, wasnt much talent to me. All I saw was the gangsta garbage, and blatant disrespect of women. I didn't understand it, WHERE WAS THE TALENT...? And I was answered in late 2000, by a very convincing Talib Kweli. I searched for more songs to see if he was the one hit kinda guy or if he consistently spit so 'hard'. I was pleasantly surprised, searching for his whole crew, searching for his inspirations, with an insatiable thirst I ate the Hip-Hop up and was left empty still, not because the music that played lacked anything. However my soul needed to express somehow, and I decided in late 2001 that I would become an emcee, I didn't know what it meant at that time, but now I have a closer idea of what exactly that is... anyhow, to choose the name I simply took "StoryTeller" urbanized it "StoryTellah" and shortened like you might see on a license plate "SToRY TeLLaH", and eliminate the "oRY" and voila ST.Tellah. In every major religion a saint must perform three miracles... it gave me something to shoot for, so here you go... 1) Ride the Intangible *flawlessly* 2)Give sight to the blind*through my lyrics open peoples eyes* 3) Paint pictures without lifting a finger... So ladies and gentlemen, pleased to meet you...
Do you play live?
I perform and open mic's in the Asheville area, and guest appear with SpeedSquare, regularly... CHECK OUT SPEEDSQUARE at myspace.com... I have a show scheduled for March 6th 2006 at the Westville pub.... 11:00 pm be there or be,SQUARE...
How, do you think, does the internet (or mp3) change the music industry?
Allows for people that are truly into music to find all sorts of things; gives exposure to people like me; and lets some chumps copy entire albums of hardworking artists with no intent of ever supporting the artist... you should be ashamed if this applies to you.

THE-LEAGUE-OF-EXTRAORDINARY-EMCEE's

This is something, that could potentially give a few emcee's a whole lot of sway... Imagine having contacts... about twenty emcees, that can help each other... They would all have the names and numbers of each other as well as a mailing address, so that we could mail flyers... promotional CD's and anything else related to the other artists, in effect a street team of dedicated artists features in each others live shows, word of mouth promotion, as well as whatever else you put into it, T'shirts, Flyers, Posters, think about how real that is...not only that but every member will link to all the other members sites from there own that way, if someone hits one of us and likes it, they will hit the others as well because it represents the gaurantee of a level of skill, and it gives the people who join footing in other areas as well... and thats just the superficial benifits of it beyond that, a crew that WILL make collaborative albums... in a J'5, SoundBombing fashion, only the rawest emcees... that are into performing live, people that have the whole package(as an emcee)... Each member would keep there own names as well as dawning the pseudonym of one of the characters, IE, I am 'SaintTellah', aka 'Quartermain' of the "LXE"... it is invite only, not to say you cannot apply but if you aint got the raw...an no one has told you yet, asking to join will ensure, a righteous review of your material that you may not like... that said, the LXE is a potentially monster thing, and labels dont like for us to do stuff like this it gives us the strengths that a there labels offer in exchange for a lil effort and not your soul....

Would you sign a record contract with a major label?
God yes, but I'm such a freak about content and creativity that they couldn't handle it. I always wanted to rock for Rawkus, but you know how that went. So any label that can support a full time artist without me grinding on a nine to five hollar at me okay...
Band History:
I was born in 1983, my spirit has always been... there was a band at one point..."First in Flight", thats no longer a set group of people. It rather symbolizes the crew who represents true Hip-Hop in these mountains. To date that was a producer, and a guitarist...of course the emcee. However you can't force a dream and drive on someone... so whatever man... First in Flight thats SaintTellah and The Rellik(big up TD!!! You got what it takes....

01/06
I could've opted to delete all that but this is a running history so... heres whats new, I met a crew named SpeedSquare playing live on the street, C-Scott on the Drums and Billy the Kid, on the keys... it was magic, so catch us callaborating around town, an lookout for the full length show March 6th at the westville pub...

March2nd
I am at such a strange spot... Eagerness is overwhelming, and yet so is doubt. My show has been backed up to april 23, so if your free ladies and gentlemen come and check out one of the appalachians finest emcees... , doubts are normal I suppose, and the only way I think I will be able to get past it is to get grinding hard with my music. Aerobatiks is back in the picture be on the look out for hot inventive underground production. I am currently trying to form, the League Of Extraordinary Gentlemen, A group of emcees who will retain there own name but wear also a name from the League "Dorian Gray, QuarterMain, Etc" anyhow, you gotta be really.... ummm NASTY. Anyhow, On the whole HipHop area, Takin' members to FirstInFlight, NorthCarolina Hip Hop crew, Artists, Emcees, DJ's, Breakers, and anyheads out there, lets hold NC down.... be good SaintTellah out,

March 8th...
The waiting game makes me sick, I need my incometax check to get back on the road, I have no original beats so my rhymes are at a standstill, not to say the ideas arent there, its just I am a perfectionist, I don't to kick rhymes in jest cuz A: I refuse to use lyrics in a rehash fashion, simply because if something is dope enjoy it and all its glory but dont define your life by that thing. and B: I like for my rhymes to correspond to the beat in a manner that is like 'WHOA' and so there you have it. Speedsquare is still supporting me in my efforts...Look for me to be openmic'ing at the westville pub on mondays starting monday after the 13th....I have historically been rather adamant about not cursing, but I have found that the concept of eradicating cursing from my songs islaughable and not plausable... It has become more of a gimick then anything, look for my next full length effort to be rather important, no longer will I boast values that are not complete with in my own universe nor will I ignore the members of my own family that scoff at the seriousness of my art form. Look for me to call out family and friends whose support is fake and patronizing at best.

I am somewhat upset, I recently penned an spit a song called three ladies... inspired by TelibKwelis FourLadies... It was for my sister and it was my gift to my father, I told him about it not so much as a thank you or good job son... talk about insensitive, oh well, I see why the girls dont listen... but look, in this world honesty is gone and so is the things that really matter, not talking about family and all that religion bullshit, I'm talking about this search for us, the search for one ness, the symbiotic, not parasitic cohabitation with the planet and all living things... any how,I will be getting a project studio together here pretty soon which wiill dramatically improve the quality of my vocals, and allow for me to more full express, myself dabbling in all aspects of hiphop... one love saint tellah out...
Your influences?
Gosh...Talib Kweli, Mos Def, Common, BlackThought, Gift of Gab, Pharoh Monch, J5, Rakim, BigDaddyKane,KRS, Kool-G... HighTek, Premier, Kanye, RJD2, NoI.D., Questlove... and any folks who knows what these guys got and brave the right path.
Favorite spot?
New York, my Mom's from there, and so is Hip-Hop... my Moms made me and so did Hip-Hop... so New York made me... Ta be real God made it all but most fools fight over it, religion and such... but peep your doctrines especially those Christians gettin' riled up right now... because as you judge this statement, know that you contradict the fundamentals of your teachings... only God judges... I love all of my brothers, sisters, mothers, and fathers.... BIG UP...
