Rome Apart is a collection of my personal works as a musician. Along side with vocalist Kieron-Kitson Walters, we strive to bring compelling and challenging music to the forefront of today's scene.
Why this name?
My nickname (of many nicknames) is Rome, short for Jerome. We originally thought of Paris Apart, but Paris Hilton... we thought, "eehh, better stay away from her name, she be a hoe."
Do you play live?
Not yet. I have a second guitarist, a bassist, and a vocalist when needed. Now to find the drummer.
How, do you think, does the internet (or mp3) change the music industry?
It has been a huge help to our career start. We release albums as free downloads, then if the listeners want, they can donate to us. No pressure, just want to get our music out there and the internet facilitates that need.
Would you sign a record contract with a major label?
Maybe. The deal has to make everyone happy, us and the record company. We're not focused on getting signed at all, we'd rather make the music we like and hopefully people like it too.
Your influences?
Steven Wilson, Porcupine Tree, Rev 9, Opeth, Dream Theater, Muse, Pain of Salvation, Three, Soilwork, Bulb, Periphery, Meshuggah, some (I said some) pop punk stuff, and anything else that happens to catch our ears.
Favorite spot?
We are from Maryland, but mine (Rome) is Austin TX. I love that city!
