Why this name?
It was really easy...my parents gave it to me at birth. Thanks mom and dad!
Do you play live?
Yes, I do play live. For the past 5 years I've been playing LA and OC. and touring from west to east. Just had some great shows in Phoenix, AZ. Opened up for ANi Difranco and had a bit of a cross country tour from AZ to TN. to NC. to PA. to NY. and up to MA. It's a fun ride and I hope it never ends!!!
How, do you think, does the internet (or mp3) change the music industry?
I think it makes more music available for everyones listening pleasure...everyone with a computer that is.
Would you sign a record contract with a major label?
Hell Yeah! And so would you, so don't judge me..
Band History:
I grew up in NY. Moved to Ma.in 1992, where I got into a band or two as a drummer. After years of being in the background, I decided to make the jump to front person. I have an ego, what can I say. I started writing and playing guitar about 6 years ago and have been going strong ever since. Played with a Salem, Ma. band for 5 years before moving out to Ca. to start my solo projects. Did some recording with MF before moving and have a 6 song CD to show for it. Recorded my first solo CD in 2004 with ERA Productions after playing and rockin' a showcase at The Knitting Factory in LA. Nominated for best folk artist of the year 2005 at the Orange County Music Awards and best female artist 2006 at the Inland Empire Music Awards and Orange County Music Awards. I have also been nominated for Best Female Artist 2007 and, FINALLY, my latest and greatest feat. I am the 2008 WINNER of the Best Live Female Performance for the Orange County Music Awards. Now I can be seen in and around the LA/OC area or back on the east coast at bars , coffee houses and where ever else they will have me. If you like what you hear, you can now purchase both of my CD's at Cdbaby.com. just click on the CD and it will take you there.
Your influences?
Ani Difranco, Tracy Chapman, Toad the Wet Sprocket, XTC, Niel Young, Bob Schnieder, Paul Simon....the usual.
Favorite spot?
Isn't that a bit personal.... Actually, I love Salem, MA. Great people and great music scene.
Equipment used:
By equipment, do you mean......
Anything else...?
If you like good lyrics with a good melody you will love Robin
