We're a Christian rock band based in the Seattle, WA area. Our purpose is to glorify God with music and, hopefully, bring others closer to God's truth...and rock out at the same time. Our music is contemporary, yet has a bit of an "old school" rock sound.
Why this name?
We had a list of about 75 potential band names. Risen Son is what we're all about, so that name stuck.
Do you play live?
We're currently wrapping up work on our debut CD, New Beginning. We'll begin playing live soon.
How, do you think, does the internet (or mp3) change the music industry?
It opens up a lot of doors for independent artists to get their music heard.
Would you sign a record contract with a major label?
Possibly. It would depend on the terms.
Band History:
Jay Imus and Colin Hayes are the driving force behind Risen Son's sound - Jay with his often unique chording and beautiful guitar melodies, Colin with fun bass lines and heartfelt vocals and lyrics. Their debut CD is due to be released in the Spring of 2008. They are currently looking for a drummer to join them for live performances.
Your influences?
Our influences are wide and varied, from CCM bands such as Newsboys, Whiteheart & Petra, to older rock bands like Rush and the Police.
