Based in the North-Western outskirts of Sydney, Australia, Reedake is a bigbeat-electro group that started in 2006. Consisting of mastermind producer Matt Rietdijk and various performers / vocalists including his brother James "Jamal" Rietdijk (MC), Reedake is bringing electronic music to the next level with catchy uptempo breakbeats mixed with rough electro leads and vocals.
Why this name?
Reedake is a phonetic spelling of Rietdijk (the core members surname).
How, do you think, does the internet (or mp3) change the music industry?
Music should be easily to access, share and experience by everyone. mp3's and the internet allow this to happen.
Band History:
The founding member (Matt) and his brother (James "Jamal") have been producing electronica, rap and hip since the early 90's. For many years there was no intention of going "professional" and their songs were created purely for the love of the art but as their passion for the art grew and their desire to share their creations with others increased both Matt and James began taking a more professional and global perspective to their music and Reedake is a result of this evolution.
