Profound :
Born on November, 15. 1981 in The Bronx, NY...moved to Miami for a few years but now back in the Bx

i've been rhyming for about 16 years now....
started writing with poetry and short stories a few years before then but actually turned it into rhyme form around 94....
My MAIN influences were Big L and Nas...when i heard Lifestyles of the Poor and Dangerous and Illmatic for the first time i was like "I can do this".....they came from the same environment as i did....so why not right !?
Its been history ever since..
Why this name?
One of its meanings is "Marked by Intillectual Depth" i liked that considering i was into deep poetry, short story writing and my rhymes at the time were heavily influenced by the books i was reading, etc.

Plus the sound of it appealed to me ....Profound...just sounded dope as well.
Do you play live?
Yes.
I've performed numerous places on numerous occasions and have opened for some very large names in the industry.
I love it...Performing live in front of a large crowd is an adrenaline rush like nothing i've ever felt. It makes you feel like nothing can stop you or get in your way, ESPECIALLY if the crowd is behind you 100% and theyre feeling your music.
How, do you think, does the internet (or mp3) change the music industry?
I believe so, it expands the voice of music to ears that wouldnt be able to hear it otherwise, due to the country theyre in, the culture, or just lack of music.
Would you sign a record contract with a major label?
Not sure anymore. Alot of the labels are full of shit
Your influences?
Big L, Nas, Az, Big Daddy Kane, Rakim,Kool G Rap, Krs-One, Wu-Tang, Big Pun, Cormega, Nature, Canibus.....theres a few others....I dont consider Biggie or 2Pac as an influence for me...they were dope emcees in my eyes but i DO NOT consider either one of them the greatests of all time....i was more of a Pac fan as well...
Favorite spot?
In a Booth away from the bullshit of the world...Recording a new track
