Well, the holidays are over ..... we were kinda forced into a short "break". Getting back into the swing of things & where we left off on all our new songs. We have 12 songs (6 from "an ep to ignore", some with adjustments from earlier versions, some with no adjustments). 3 of them are in the middle of being halfway done to almost complete. We are tentatively shooting for the end of February to be done with all the songs. I recently got some new music toys & have been workin on setting up a small recording set-up in my basement. That has opened up new ideas for new songs ... but probley won't make it onto this cd. We'll see. We're pretty much focused on tying up all the loose ends on what needs to be done with production & finishing the songs that are too close to being done. So, again, yes, we are still workin on finishing these songs. When you hear the cd, front to back, in compairison to "Trust Me", we feel ... its a huge step for us.

To check some of it, peep http://photos.yahoo.com/ravinvsflud in the folder "RvsF Merchandise" 02 - well, i havent gotten the "go ahead" from flud yet on this track, but we've sat on it long enough (i hope he won't be mad)..... and I dont have the song anymore to make any "fine-tunning" adjustments ... so its as "complete" as its gonna get ..... the vocals may be a little low, but oh well ..... we MIGHT be able to pull off a better version of it when its let loose on "temporal flux" (cuz we are perfectionists) but .. i figured, "f*** it" ..... I absolutely LOVE this song .... it makes me want to do more slow trip hop stuff ...... Its in the "music" section, called "Never Ends".....

I have bad news, and I have bad news. First bad news = Everything I had, that was RvsF, that had been done, in the past year, has been lost/destroyed. Second bad news = I have no idea how much this will effect the t-shirt making, completion of songs, re-doing songs like we originally anticipated re-vamping a couple songs that were on the EP, to be re-released on the "full length", artwork, etc. So, needless to say, this comes at quite a bad time. I have "back-up stuff" from "Trust Me" and I all the audio from the EP, but all the artwork, miscellaneous song ideas, all hard copy computer files of "Radio", "Surreal Summer", "Under Me", everything that i have worked on musically for the past year (with the exception of mixed down/uneditable audio), all the cd layout stuff, ... its all gone. We still have fluds stuff, and we have the two new songs. But any chance of recovering or redoing "updates" to old stuff has been destroyed. Johnny, I hope you have all that artwork i sent you .. cuz i dont have any of that stuff, and it was going to be the front cover artwork. (I hope I still have it on my computer at work.). I don't really wanna ramble on much, cuz the self pity is unbearable, and I dont wanna sound like an ungrateful bastard, but its kinda hard to be optimistic now. Thanks for everything guys ..... i suppose we'll keep working new stuff, but how many more "bad luck" streaks can you have? I dunno what it was. Either a virus or someone hacked my computer, so i'm shutting down the ftp. If you want the RvsF MP3s, you'll have to get em from the www.Soundclick.com/RavinVersusFlud page. I know its a pain, and i think you need to register in order to download the files, sorry. I don't know what else to say. Sorry. Hope you understand. I'm about tired of dealing with computer bullshit though. I'm a bit frustrated with all of it though. "Nice guys finish last", isn't that what they say? F***, we just wanna make music cuz we like it. What's so hard about that? Why the rocky road? Can't play out, no labels, stoopid f***ing full-time jobs, and we probley sound like whinney bastards. First report of a Radio Broadcast

Well, as far as we know, none of our stuff has made it out to the radio airwaves, until now. I got a report from one of our friends (we both actually grew up with him) that he heard Ravin Versus Flud on the radio. I'll let you read what he said in the email:-

"I was at work today in a post production house. I was about to make a call at the bar they have there, when I realized I had heard the song that the radio was playing. Suddenly, I realized it was an original Ravin Versus Flud, "Freestylin'". I freaked out, and had no one to share the moment with. So here I am, I made my way to the first computer so I could tell you. Holy sh*** you guys were on the radio in Argentina! Way to go, I'm still a little high about all of this.

SO, apparently, a radio station in Argentina was playin some of our stuff. On Tuesday, 09-10-02 around 5:45PM EST. That is so cool! We approve! If you like that, wait for some more of the new stuff, in my opinion, it blows "freestylin'" out of the water! We have no idea how they got ahold of our music, but, apparently, it got there somehow! If you have any more info for us, about the name of the radio station, the radio format it was being played for, what the response was (if any), etc, please email us with the info!

Lots of stuff goin on. I suck at updates. Sorry. So, i have been talkin about two songs we have been workin on. And well, its safe to say, we are pretty excited about them. You'll see why, when we post em. It seems like along wait for a 3-4 minute song, huh? By the time we are done with a whole set of like 12 songs, it'll be two years or somethin. 2 years for 45 minutes. hmmmm. Ok, i'm babbling. News: New website in the works. Dunno how soon that'll be. Two new songs almost done, and a few in the works. Been talkin about playin out live a lot lately. Been talkin about bein anxious to do that. Have set sum goals for oursleves, in that area. So, yeah, "Conquering The World Tour" - Coming Soon ! In the meantime, we are practicing, and still a "studio" band, giving the few songs we have the "TLC" they need ! Still workin on new songs. Have 3 that we have been consitantly workin on for the past few weeks. All of us, VERY pleased with how they are comin along. VERY nice mix of styles. Workin on the vocals, and all of us happy with ALL of it so far (which is sayin a lot, cuz we are picky). Will post some stuff, when any of it gets finished.

I re-uploaded almost all of the MP3s cuz soem were pretty shabby in quality AND I uploaded a few different NEW MP3s from the EP. The new Ravin Versus Flud EP, "An EP To Ignore" is done! Its taken us about a year, but man, has it been worth it! We have really been enjoying the musical direction we have been headed and are havin fun exploring different styles. If yah stroll on over to the discography section, you'll see the track listing, new artwork and the lyrics. A couple things to note about the new EP: These tracks will be re-released on the full length we plan on doing/releasing, tentativly titled, "Temporal Flux". We are releasing "An EP To Ignore" WHILE continuing to work on more new songs. We're NOT slowin down for nuthin! Some of the songs on the full length MAY have minor adjustments to them (along with brand new songs). For example, the song "Untitled (Instrumental)" is without vocals on the EP, but will include vocals on the full length. Also, the song "Surreal Summer" MIGHT be used as an instrumental on the full length, but maybe not. Well, you get the point ..... Also, some of the stuff on the EP tends to be a little bit of the "grow-on-yah" variety, but you wait ..... you will catch yourself hummin the melodies! Also, if you would like to be on the mailing list, please feel free to sign up. And if you like rompin around on message boards, please jump on ours .... (hopefully a little "community" will emerge on there) Real quick, also, we would like to thank all you guys that have been helpful and supportive to us over the past few months. It seems that RvsF has gained a couple of new fans. So, we appreciate your support. If you like our stuff, tell your friends about us. 3-10-02 Ok, well....hmmm...I don't know how to sum this up. We are STILL working on the new songs. And yah, its taking forever! But, you see, we are perfectionists and we don't want to release ANYthing we don't feel 110% confterable with. So, we have been discussing what we want to do. We have been back and forth. Its been almost a year since we released "Trust Me". Although we love that album, we have grown musically. And so, by taking advantage of the "crossover" direction we have grown into, we have concentrated on 5 songs. BUT, out of habit....we have YET to take a break, working on new music. So, we have tossed around the idea of waiting to release the songs on a FULL LENGTH. But, if its taken us almost a year to complete 5 new songs, waiting on a full length might be a few more months....So, what we ANTICIPATE doing is this: We are EXTREMELY excited about the new songs and I personally think I would implode if we didn't release them! So, I THINK what we are gonna do is release an EP of the new songs AND continue to work on new music.......re-releasing the EP songs ON the FULL LENGTH, in addition to whatever else is on the full length. The tentative titles are "An EP To Ignore" & "Temporal Flux". Please feel free to drop us a line when we release them and let us know what you think of them. Also, we have gained a few new fans as of late and would like to say thank you to everyones continued support. We know how easy it is to find a new band and then forget about em. 01-01-02 Hey, well. heres new "news" to bring you up to speed: We have about 5 songs right now that are all 1/2-100% the way done. A few of them have ALL the music done, just waiting on us to lay down all the vocals, and some are in other stages of completion. We really enjoy these songs and have been stugglin through them but feel that they really represent what we WANT to do, musically. Good stuff, & in our opinion, some of the better stuff we have done. Its weird, one of them actually has some of the same musicial ideas as the "Team Sleep" song "Ligeia" so along those lines! Umm, I dunno how to describe the stuff. All I guess I can say is this: We have wanted our music to take the direction that it has been heading and it sounds nice. If you are listening to our music and like it, then you already know that we don't stick to one category of style. So, WE like it and its definately "new" & unclassifyable! Later Ravin

10-31-01 Happy Halloween! Well, whats new to report? We have been workin on new guitar stuff for new songs. A few tracks (about 5-6) are lookin like they will be used for the new cd. Pretty tight. Flud has been in a flow, workin on like 17 tracks all at the same time, in true Flud style. Ravin & Split workin on stuff at a lil slower pace. Some stuff is in idea stages, some stuff is close to being done. One new song tentivly titled, "(EMO)" by Ravin samples old school Slayer which makes for a fun mix with dance/hip hop. We are continuing to collaborate and work on new stuff for awhile, giving us plenty of tracks to pick and choose from for the next cd. Meanwhile, behind, the scenes stuff: Some fans have really been helpin us out by passing info about us to their friends and helping promote us, thanks so much, we appreciate it! What to say about the new stuff so far... well, in true Ravin Versus Flud fashion, it seems that our style is headed in a different direction, meaning: the next cd we put together will sound a lot different than the last. 8-30-01 Its been 1 year since we put up this web page. And its been closer to a year and a half since we seriously started working on Ravin Versus Flud songs together. Happy Birthday to us & the web page! Wow. We have busted out over 30 songs in around 13 months! Our progress has been slower lately to make sure we don't rush anything as much. So, we probley won't do another 30 songs within the next year. As far as what we have been doing lately: we have been workin on a new song titled "Rebellion Of Gravity". Think: Digital Hip Hop meets Acoustic guitar, it sounds really nice. All three of us are taking a break for a couple of days to do a few things then in about two weeks we will start working again on collaborating on new stuff together. Later.

8-19-01 Two of the new songs Ravin is working on kinda have a "Massive Attack" feel to them. A different direction for his style, really good stuff though. A new song Flud is working on has all kinds of distorted vocals, guitar, noise, ambient weird stuff. Good stuff, just thought I'd drop a line to talk about some of the new stuff we are working on and the style in its idea stages.
8-15-01 We have been kinda forced to slow down on work on a couple songs over the past week or so. Making progress, we are still pretty much in idea stages of working on new songs, we have some basic stuff laid down / some lyric ideas / some guitar parts but they still need a lot of work. So, not too much to report. We will be working on these songs for awhile. We really through ourselves into "Trust Me" and shoot to do the same with the new stuff. 7-23-01 Some of our friends have been helping promote us and we have been sendin out cds all over the place so thanks to everyone for spreading the Ravin Versus Flud love! It seems that the name is getting out there. Keep it up ! We rely on you for our promotion. 6-06-01 Not too much to report. We are takin a small break to promote "Trust Me" (Passin out samplers,etc). The responses from people about the new cd have been AWESOME! Thank you so much. 4-01-01 Happy April Fools Day. The new cd, "Trust Me" is done, with the exception of 2 songs. One needs our vocals laid down, which we are doing this week. And the other song, is another slow/acoustic song by Flud, the feel of it being similar to "On You". The cd should be wrapped up by next week. 3-11-01 Still working on "Trust Me". Its been 4 months now since we started on these songs. As a band, we have definately grown and matured. I think you will be able to see that in the album. The songs are taking so long because, well.... doing what we've wanted to do to our songs(putting our own vocals to them, writting, and adding our own guitar, etc) has been a more compilacted process than anticipated. But, the best way i can describe it is that the album is beautiful. We are really happy with what we have been doing. Its almost like fulfilling a dream. We'll keep you posted as soon as the album is done. (It's lookin like 3 more weeks or so).
2-16-00 Went and saw Linkin Park here in Columbus on Valentines Day. They ROCKED the house ! Gave a sampler of some of our songs to the lead singer and talked with him for a minute. Hope he likes our stuff and gets a chance to check out more of our music & web page ! It is CONFIRMED, we ARE doing a cover of "Looking down the barrel of a gun" by Beastie Boys and it will be on "Trust Me". So far, it sounds REALLY nice! 1-18-01 Still workin on new album, titled "Trust Me". The songs are almost done, we have been pourin our hearts into them and spending a lot more time on these songs instead of rushing em. Comparitive to our other cds, these songs have a lot more vocal parts and the overall sound of the cd is headed in a different direction (in a good way) . Thats what kinda makes our cds kinda nice, each one is nothing like the last, yet its all good stuff (atleast WE think it is).
