Quality aka John Bartholomew is a dedicated producer/beatmaker with a love for hip hop and music as a whole. Growing up, surprisingly he never really had an interest for music. But as soon as he became hooked on music, he learned what music is truly all about. About a year later, Quality started making beats. While influenced by dope artists like Jazzy Jeff, DJ Premier, Pete Rock, and A Tribe Called Quest among many others, Quality is always striving to elevate his music and knowledge for it. Hip Hop is a huge part of his life, both listening to it and creating it. Quality is currently working on his first album with his emcee/cousin, Remix, collaborating on tracks with a growing number of real emcees for a solo producers album, and learning the lyrical side of things along with djing. He plans on going to Full Sail University to get a degree in recording arts in hope of becoming an engineer......... Thanks for checking out my page. Just another dude that loves chillin and kickin it with friends. I'm a hip hop head, and a fan of this art form for real. Really gotta give all the props to God though, who inspires me like no other. Hit me up if you want to talk about anything or are looking to collaborate. Always looking to connect with real artists, emcees get at me for beats. Peace!

Why this name?
I made up the nickname Quality for myself, because when I saw the word, I felt it described my music.
Do you play live?
I hope to someday.
How, do you think, does the internet (or mp3) change the music industry?
I like the exposure that the internet provides for artists, but at the same time all the illegal downloading of mp3s hurt record sales.
Would you sign a record contract with a major label?
An indie label would be dope. Who knows, maybe I'll start my own label and work with only real artists.
Band History:
Hip Hop, it don't stop. Been doin it since I was 16, and I will be at it for the rest of my days.
Your influences?
DJ Jazzy Jeff and the Fresh Prince, Gang Starr, A Tribe Called Quest, Common, Pete Rock & CL Smooth, 5th Sequence, J Live, Talib Kweli, Big L, The Roots, 2pac, Krs One, Organized Konfusion, Black Moon, Da Beatminerz, Naughty By Nature, KJ 52, J Dilla (RIP), Hi Tek, Pharcyde, Public Enemy, Mos Def, Eric B. and Rakim, Qbert, Mix Master Mike, Dr. Dre, Run-DMC, Bone Thugs N Harmony, De La Soul, Nas, LL Cool J, Warren G, Brand Nubian, Large Professor (Main Source), Big Daddy Kane, Kid N Play. Pretty much anyone from the old school.

Also a lot of old soul and jazz influences my music. I love the smoothness to it, which explains why I sample it.
