Proof of Ghosts is a project by Steve Heyerdahl, with the help of many friends and well wishers, formerly of the the Suck My Disc collective, the Electric Shoes, Blackcat#13 and the Prom Night Suicide Pact. And that's it for name dropping...
Why this name?
I wanted something otherworldly...
Do you play live?
um, yes, yes, and i think yes...
How, do you think, does the internet (or mp3) change the music industry?
Well, it allows every jerk with a guitar to post their songs. Hey, I did it...
Would you sign a record contract with a major label?
Are you offering? Seriously, I'll do anything to make it... anything...
Band History:
I got the idea back in the first part of this new century, but only recently was i able to pull off what i was hoping for, as far as recording and that sort of thing... Live I've found some kind folks who know the songs and we play together and sometimes I play alone...
Your influences?
Earth, Groundhogs, Dinosaur Jr., Townes Van Zandt, Alice Cooper Band, Jim White, the Black Heart Procession, Current 93, Boris, Sixteen Horsepower, Neil Young, Death In June, SunnO))), Davenra Banhart, Burzum, CCR, Black Sabbath, Entrance, His Name is Alive, Daniel Amos, old AM radio, the Slavation Army brass band, tent revival music, old folk and country recordings, raw Black Metal from Norway, blah blah blah
Favorite spot?
the Toronto Island
Equipment used:
An electric guitar, a banjo, an acoustic guitar, drums, bass guitar, a cheap condencer mic, an alesis usb sound card, a pretty good laptopt, whoever's voice i can borrow, and i only record on vintage hard drives
Anything else...?
I'm looking to play anywhere, either with a band but also solo, to promote my record, "Proof of Ghosts", released March 4th on (weewerk)
