PcOnTrApTiOn

The glitch and drop of warp records meets the layered baroque psychedelia of Henry Cow in PcOnTrApTiOn (read: potato-contraption), a mash-up collaborative that pairs the arrangement and production skills of RDunlap with the electro-sonic emanations of Johann Meier (of Jopy). The contraption navigates an audio space where filtered static, disjointed motorik rhythms, frantic electro beats, eno-pads, and the odd robot singer blend together. at turns foreboding, lush, and even uplifting, PcOnTrApTiOn excels primarily at defying your expectations.

Johann is responsible for almost all of the original sound files used (programming and performance: various short and long clips of "raw material", Jopy outtakes and other already existing material, additional material recorded for specific songs, etc).

RD constructs the finished pieces (treatments, arrangements, mixing) from this growing inventory of sound files from Johann, occasionally incorporating some of his own original material (recordings of Casio CZ-101 synthesizer) and other material (featuring vocal samples provided by rachMiel).
