Do you play live?
Yes, we play live. We play periodically at a place called The Classic Sports Lounge in our town and we're playing at our local annual festival, Culver Lake Fest. We like it.
How, do you think, does the internet (or mp3) change the music industry?
For us, as independent musicians, it is a great tool for getting the music to people we could never reach with out the mp3 format or the internet.
Would you sign a record contract with a major label?
We are mainly only really interested in distribution and promotional assistance, which we would gladly pay for. We have our own recording studio, Splatcat Records, we do our own art, and made and maintain our web site. We don't want people to do this for us. We like it.
Your influences?
Well, even our fans say they cannot categorize us with any of the current genres known to man. We're hoping this is a good sign. Things we like a lot are Tool, King Crimson, Shellac, Throwing Muses, XTC, Beck, yadda yadda yadda. People have said certain songs or aspects of some songs sound like Cake, Ween, Portishead, and PJ Harvey. Feel free to suggest genres or bands we may be on the same page as by sending us an e-mail.
Favorite spot?
We all like Chicago a lot.
Equipment used:
Fernandes guitar with Sunn amp, Fender bass with peavey amp, unidentified but excellent vintage drums with a Sure 52 Beta kick mic and 57s for sound reinforcement, Roland 880EX to record, Behringer and PreSonus pre-amps, Audio Technica, Sure, and Studio Projects microphones, bullfrog speakers, TOA head...I think that's everybody. My appologies for those I forgot to mention...
