Hi!
My name is Jimmy. I'm from the northern parts of Sweden. If someone is interested I live a couple of kilometres away from Örnsköldsvik. That place where Peter Forsberg or Markus Näslund grew up. If you are a hockeynerd you should've known that. :)
Well I've been playing guitar for years and years, can't really remember exactly how long and I've tried to remember it several times.
Got no specific dates or anything but I think it was when I was in sixth grade or something, I think it was -02, and I must've been like, counts with fingers, 10-12 years back then. I have a feeling that I started even earlier than that but...
The songs that I write and record are the fruits of playing Metallica songs and CoB. God, I was a Metallica nerd. :) I think I had powertabs for every single song they have ever written. And I could play most of them too...
Well, that was what I did the first years of my guitarplaying carrier.
Got into more and more of that techi kind of metal with CoB.
Than I went on a nice guitarnerd-music era with Cacophony and the arpeggiomonster Jason Becker. I haven't learned any songs from them except some parts, due to the fact that I couldn't play it. :p There is one song that I did learn and that was Altiudes by Jason Becker. That song is awesome and it also includes a nice etude on arpeggiotechnique. I think that etude is my first serious attempt at sweeping, and it took about a year or two before I could sweep really good.
Next thing was Dream Theater, awesome band. If I would have digged them in the good ol' days I would have learned all of there songs and been able to shred like the Shredder. But the years go by and you get older and weaker, the only thing that grows with time is laziness. Meaning that I haven't learned as much songs of theirs that I should have. XD
Opeth is also a nice band. I'm really amazed how great and original their songs are.
At this time I bought at last a midipiano, @ -08. And I am trying to be able to play some tunes with it. The weird thing is that I've had a real piano at home for whole my life but i haven't touched it until just recently.
Enough blabbering about nonsense. I've uploaded some songs here on soundclick that I hopefully am proud of, or at least was when I upd. them. The production of the songs should become better by every new song that I upload. But the quality of the songs them self can vary. So make sure you listen to all of them so you know which songs that you should remember the next time you come back here. Because you WILL...
Thanks for listening.
