Paper Cats is a lover's duo. We range through folk and anti-folk to rougher electrified rock and blues; Chris plays guitars--six string, twelve string, classical acoustic, electric, you name it--and Lauren mostly sings. Some of our work is Chris's solo guitar composition, some Lauren's solo ballads, but increasingly our work is collaborative, usually with Chris writing guitar parts and Lauren writing vocal parts. Chris started playing guitar in high school, fell out of it, but was inspired to start again in earnest a couple years ago, when we fell in love. Lauren has been singing since birth, or maybe before, and recently decided to compose her own vocals.Have you performed in front of an audience?Just at home with the doors open, or for friends. Takamine 523SC 12-string, Cordoba C5-CE, through a cheapie but reliable M-Audio pre-amp, Ableton Live, run on a G4 iBook. Lauren's voice, through an MXL 990 vocal mic, into the same contraption. Our brains. The cat.Anything else?
