acoustic 12-string guitar & layered vocals by Lynn (beware the opening echo! ;D), slide guitar by John Goux, bass by Dave Coy, drums by David Crigger
My car broke down and I spent the night in a cheap motel; turns out there were two 'professionals' next door, turning tricks all night. Finally fell asleep and when I woke up in the morning I thought, "what kind of mindset do you have to put on in order to do that?" I wrote the song before checking out. A friend uses it to teach the concept of "persona" to her English students at University.

Come to me, you young boys, all you lonely and you lame
Don't waste my time with useless lines because we both know we're playing a game--
Don't you tell me any breathless words of love - it's garbage and I don't need that kind of jive
Just come to me and bring your tens and your twenties
And I'll make you glad that you're alive
I am your motel, I am your motel, I am your motel - motel madonna
Mother to orphans and homeless strays
Com'ere honey and bring me the money and I'll show you a few of love's ways
I am no cheap streetside beacon, no run-down-town redlight lamp
I don't do groups and I don't do perversions
I am not that kind of tramp
I am your motel, I am your motel, I am your motel - motel madonna
Rocked many a boy, sweet young boy on my knee
I know you'll be gone in the morning, baby that's all right with me
Your mother will tell you that I'm worthless but your daddy knows that I'm not cheap
I plan to do quite well and I'll probably end up in hell
Rocking the sinners to sleep
I am your motel, I am your motel, I am your motel - motel madonna
Mother to orphans and homeless strays
Com'ere honey and bring me the money and I'll show you a few of love's ways
I am your motel, I am your motel, I am your motel - motel madonna
Rocked many a boy, sweet young boy on my knee
I know you'll be gone in the morning, baby that's all right with me
