Moratorium began in April 2002. With Moratorium I wanted to write darker, blacker metal than I had previously and concentrate on more personal lyrics.

The result is the album 'Stripped of all Sacred'.

Demo work is beginning on the follow up album but right now I want to get people listening to 'Stripped...'
Why this name?
Moratorium means a break and a cessation of activity. I had to stop where I was going in my old band to reasses where I wanted to go next. It also sounds like two very metal words/subjects put together: Mortuary and Sanitarium. But the point with Moratorium is that the lyrics are anything but traditional metal.
Do you play live?
I have played live many times. However this is a studio based project.
Band History:
Prior to Moratorium I was in London Death/Thrash band Ligature. For a brief period I rehearsed with a new Infestation line up in 2000. I continued writing and recording with Ligature until Moratorium began.

Between 1997-2002 Ligature established an excellent reputation for live performances and music writing. Ligature put the emphasis on song-writing rather than out and out brutality recording two mini CD's, "Extinction Agenda" (1999) and "The Abolition of Guilt" (2000).

In that time Ligature played many shows across the UK with Akercocke, Zarathustra/Detrimentum, Throne of Nails, Desecration, Solace Denied, Thus Defiled, Regorge, Gorerotted and many others from the UK underground.
Your influences?
Slayer, Sepultura, Morbid Angel, Entombed, Grotesque, Grave, Death, Metallica/Megadeth etc
Anything else...?
