On September 18 in Chicago, IL, Money Calvino was born. Money has been fascinated by music since his toddler years. Growing up he asked for a multitude of music lessons and musical equipment, he started writing poetry in first grade. Since 2001 Money has released a limited edition volume 0 Live from Chicago( the free!-- sessions) that has moved units on the streets and the internet . Since Volume 0 countinues to garner acclaim and sales Volume 1 is now available . "Live From Chicago" has become a series with five more volumes to come ; peppered with vivid imagery , realism and honesty from a chicago point of view.
There seemed to be a simplistic poetry to the way Calvino writes his songs as more of a day to day journal of his life and of the people that he's encountered during his travels down life's highway all over the Midwest, the Delta and parts of the East Coast.
Out of all the many places Money has lived, no city was like Chicago to him and he eventually returned to his first love. Chicago has a rich background in Blues, Jazz, House and Soul, but you wouldn't readily think about Hip-Hop influenced music coming from a city more known for pimps, gangs, easy women, crooked politicians and horny preachers. Surprisingly, in that environment, the speakers of the truth from the heart flourish.
Money has been known to state on many occasions that "cooking is my life, but Urban music for the community and people who grew up on hip-hop is my passion, it's a true feeling that comes from my heart, not just something that I write or say out of my mouth" so as you can read he was influenced by hip-hop, but since he is not from New York he doesn't do what the average Newyorker would condsinder hip hop and is perfectly comfortable with that "it's better to be influenced by than to duplicate."

Money Calvino is also earning a rep for being the cutting edge producer M. Currency. He actually started producing more out of necessity than having a deep passion for producing as he does now, but after spending a few years working with different producers the one thing he felt they always lacked was a full polished sound. So he soon purchased his first piece of production equipment and it has been ongoing every since.
Money is also the CEO of a fledgling company "Union Avenue Unlimited " that specializes in marketing consultation, promotions, artist development, beat brokering and apparel design and sales, janitorial services catering, landscaping and many other ventures to come in the future.
Money has admiration for a lot of people and the accomplishments they've made musically, culturally, politically, socially and in the corporate realm, but they do not define him or even influence his way of life or his decisions ... he is a true leader that marches to the beat of his own drum corps, because usually after meeting and talking to him for a while, you find you're willing to march in his army and play his tune. Calvino chooses to surround himself with skilled, positive, supportive people.
The future for Money is shining bright and will include more mixtures, film scores, writings, production slots, and more of the Man with the heart of an entrepreneur, Money Calvino.
