Michelle Meyer - BIO
A professional singer who started singing since the age of 9, Michelle Meyer has performed live concerts and recorded in multiple genres: jazz, pop, country, folk, rock, contemporary, blues, funk, gospel and even classical arias in the languages of English, French, German and Italian. Michelle has sung The National Anthem with the U.S. Marines present for the opening week of The Oregon State Fair and was highlighted as a solo vocal performing artist for another Washington State Fair...
In November of 2005, with her Fairfield County CT based jazz group, "Nouveau Jazz", she and her colleagues, Douglas Canal and Todd Schneider, performed for the Directors & Board of Trustees of Channel 21 - PBS/WLIW in East Meadow, Long Island.

She has performed with such national talents as:

Michelle Meyer was professionally trained in theory and piano performance by the late Mrs. Wassung of Westport, CT. She was also professionally trained in voice by Interlochen School of Music vocal instructor Joy Yinger and a myriad of Broadway and professional songwriting talent such as Ellen Hanley and Bill Hall of “The Hall Family Singers” Westport, CT. Michelle started composing original material at the age of 13. Hired as a professional musical director at the young age of 15 for a private theater company, “Fantacini Theater” she was credited of helping to launch the lead child actress onwards to the New York Broadway stage.

DRC Music Entertainment is one of her latest professional endeavors. Under her supervision as President, the company which is located in Fairfield County, CT, has acquired some of the best independent composers, performing and recording artists available nationwide and internationally. The company's talent roster which can be viewed www.DRCMusicENT.com is a testament to the desire of professional performing and recording artists who feel comfortable being represented by their fellow peers in the industry. Michelle Meyer is firmly defining herself as a professional singer/songwriter/vocal and piano instructor/agent/musical director, film actress & CEO in her own right. In addition, Michelle is a trained visual artist and has acquired her Professional Degree in Visual Communications. She is also "getting her toes wet" as a background actress in feature films such as "Sisterhood of The Traveling Pants II", dancing as one of the background actresses in "Righteous Kill" w/50Cent, Robert DeNiro and Al Pacino "Scarface", she landed a singing background role in "The After School Movie" which will be sent to Festivals this year directed by Antonio Campos (he has been compared to the legendary director, Scorcese, as one of the newest and best directors on the scene......) Michelle also appeared (for the briefest of moments in the stands at a baseball game) as a background actress in the recent made for television Premiere Movie "One More Day" produced by Oprah Winfrey which aired this past December 2007 on ABC.
She was also one of CT's Star 99.9 FM Finalists in the Star 99.9 FM Star Idol Competition the summer of 2007 performing live at Harbor Yard Arena in Bridgeport, CT.

Nouveau Jazz is our trio.....New Jazz is the meaning...kinda ecclectic...we can perform any genre almost...straight ahead jazz mixed with a little soul, funk, a lot of blues...Elegant to extremely fun...
Do you play live?
Yes, I play mainly live in CT/NY. I will be listing our new dates ASAP. Still communicating with local venues to lock in dates. Check back in often if you'd like to see our group "live"....
How, do you think, does the internet (or mp3) change the music industry?
I think it will help to overcome many issues that would take up too much time to discuss here...I think it definitely helps each one of us artists in the area of having a chance of "making it BIG"...IF one is truly good. Onward my fellow sisters and brothers in the music industry..press forward to be the BEST!!!
Would you sign a record contract with a major label?
YES if the contract was fair for BOTH sides..and I am starting MY OWN label through my artist representation company: DRC Music Entertainment & Artistic Enterprises. Interested in signing on?? A nice sunny spot....you could compare me to a cat....I love sunshine!....My favorite spot will probably never change. It is where I used to vacation as a child. In a lakefront cottage in Northern Michigan. Looking for lots of land to build a HUGE artists retreat on a lake somewhere......SOON! Keep my vision in your prayers...
