Born April 5th 1983 in Lawrence Massachusetts, Eduardo Cepeda Jr. experienced more heartache growing up then any child should ever endure, which would eventually be the paint for the canvas of his life story. Growing up in a single parent home in urban Lawrence Massachusetts A.K.A. Lawtown, Prez used hip hop to escape and numb the day to day struggles he experienced. But Tragedy struck in young Prez’s sophomore year of high school when he lost his mother, to asthma a few days prior to his birthday. Unfortunately the burial landed on his birthday, a day that would change his life’s path forever, knowing his mother would not want him to be sad on his birthday Prez coped with the loss by partaking in marijuana and alcohol that night. Someone put on ready to die and with a heavy heart and mixed emotions Prez started to freestyle about what he was feeling at that moment. That day his peers commended him on his talent and that day he learned a valuable lesson that he could use music as an outlet for his thoughts and pains and still connect with people on another level.
