My life was all about music until I discovered that unless I got very, very lucky, I was going to end up 40 and broke with the only thing to look forward to was becoming 50 and broke. So, I decided to change careers. I did the computer programmer thing for a while which can be quite lucrative. So, now I'm 40 and broke. I never counted on the fact that a divorce can accomplish in just a few hours what a career in music could take a lifetime to accomplish. They just don't teach you that kind of thing in college.
Anyway, I'm still not convinced that a career in music is the best way to stay broke. So, it is just a hobby for now. After a long layoff while I pursued financial oblivion, I have finally managed to get my chops back and now I'm combining computers and music which is fun.

You say "Anyway, I'm still not convinced that a career in music is the best way to stay broke." I'm not so sure 'bout that. I'm broke, have a car, some good musicians to work with ( that's a given ) and I keep either picking or wanting to pick somewhere, besides the studio. Hey, I'll soon be 55 and still lovin' it. You're one of the better musicians I've heard on Sound Click. "And don't you ever forget it" in the words of the late Jimi Hendrix. Mack
