[last edited on Wed Mar 5, 2008 @ 11:20 AM] The early/mid 20th Century produced outstanding talent in Popular and 'Light Classical' Music. Sadly, most of this is now stifled by the word Copyright. The result = the Music is not being heard, apart from by a select few. Leroy Anderson (featured in Synthphony's repertoire) is a composer of my parents' generation. His music I heard on the BBC Light Programme when I was a small boy. The first piece of any substance I mastered was Anderson's "Forgotten Dreams" around 1959 when I was 10. Amongst pieces I'd love to play on Soundclick are Warsaw Concerto, Dream of Olwen, Legend, Legend of the Glass Mountain etc. From here in the UK I fear Copyright reprisal.
I therefore applaud Synthphony not only for the beautiful presentation and musicianship here, but also for putting up Music that NEEDS to be heard because it's just so good. Really well done.
