[last edited on Wed Jul 22, 2009 @ 12:00 PM] we had 2 weeks production time per project. i did most of it on my own. we were allowed as much time as we liked for setting up though (including drawings/models etc).
the clay and object animation didn't take anywhere near as long as nick park would have you believe. it was longer than 2d computer animation, but i would say significantly quicker than 3d animation which takes a ridiculous amount of time, especially building the models, which is really daunting. professional 3d animations have a massive team on them, working for months and months. and for the models they usually have expensive equipment to trace objects and their movements. for one person to make something for about 4 minutes duration takes probably more time than it's really worth to be honest.
the quickest type of animation (and probably the easiest) is pixellation where you animate human bei

[last edited on Thu Jul 9, 2009 @ 12:20 PM] i just noticed you're the same age as me, from the uk the same as me, and are a buddhist the same as me. allthough i expect, a different type of buddhist.
the video you asked about was done on anim8or (which is downloadable for free at anim8or.com) and was edited on a combination of free programmes. to be honest, most people would be able to get better programmes than what i used. my computer is very old and low-tech (i bought it for 35 quid!) and is only capable of running windows 98. ironically, i'd be much better at making a 2D animation, as that's what i speciallised in at university, but i haven't managed to find anything free that works on my crappy computer and that is worth using. you'd think it would be easier to get a 2d programme to work on it, but no.
